Kinda forget how big older bullets used to be.

where'd this dude get a cannon

Muzzle loading black powder cannons are just big antique rifles on wheels as far as the law's concerned. The projectile isn't explosive or anything.
"W-wh-wha-what just happened?!? The table's standing up now!"
Highlight of the video for me. :v:
That cannon was fucking terrifying, though.
With the cannon + slomo:
[sp]It looks like you'd have a better chance without the armour to spread the energy and just let the projectile fly right through you and take with it any (hopefully not vital) organs. You know, if you prefer a slow painful death from bleeding/infection instead of an instant one.[/sp]

well, thats not really how this sort of thing works.

The amount of energy being distributed in such a sort period time = you explode
Man I want a Martini-Henry so bad. The repetitive actions of cranking the lever, loading, and then firing just looks real fun.
Only bad thing is that it's blackpowder which is a pain I've heard.
I was hoping they'd use a 2 bore, no like from me

i had this same thought while watching
That Matchlock Musket sounded really nice.

It wouldn't make a hole though, it'd just tear a person right in half like a rotten rag, pulverizing everything around the point of the impact and leaving smaller and bigger pieces lying about. It won't be any less messy, that's for certain. Shit, just imagine how much brutal stuff there was on battlefields of old, what with thousands of people just shooting huge slabs of metal at each other.
I keep forgetting that there were rifled canons like that during the end of their lifespan.

That can work with say, 5.56 if you have cheap soft body armor. But a 37mm's temporary wound cavity is bigger than the human body, so you would actually just sort of explode as the round passed through you. .50 rounds do the same thing, and they're even smaller, and the further down range you are from it when you're hit, the worse it's going to be

Exploding is much more rad though. I mean if you are gonna die anyway, go out with a bang and provide PTSD for all your comrades!
