Shaping up to be the pirate game I have always dreamed of.
I always think that the AC games look really fun but then I play them and they're dull as shit
looks nice but somehow i think there are way too much indicators and hud elements.
that looks super hype i wanna see one where you play as a ronin samurai in the 1850s that'd be also awesome
I think the ships accelerate/respond too quickly. That was the main gripe I had with the naval combat in the third and I'm a bit disappointed they haven't addressed it for a game that's centered around it.
Yeah that ship seriously turboboosted off the dock..
didn't know they had wooden speed boats back then
I think it looks pretty nice. I'm a huge fan of the open-world pirate-type game, but there have only been a couple titles that were ever made.
lol ships don't work like that
One thing I would like to see, with this being an emphasis on pirates, is some sort of visual resemblance of your wealth. Not just a little number in the corner of your screen that's just a binary yes or no for purchasable stuff, but I'd like to see a hide out that shows your wealth. Sort of like Fable 3 did, or you see in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, with your hide out just being littered, more and more with your takings I'm impressed so far, though. AC has turned kind of bland with the same mechanics being repeated over and over without much changing. But an open world, real world historical ships and the setting looks to be enough of a changeup this time. And there's a bit more Tomb Raider in it than even the new Tomb Raider had. I just fucking hope that we can mod it on the PC to slow down the ships a bit. Bring them to Pirates of the Burning Sea level's of movement and we're in business
I told myself I wouldn't look forward to this, but god damn that looks cool.

I love how at 2:04 the dude is magically pulled into the player's elbow. lmao
Well this is disappointing...

Moving around the massive world they created at 10mph and having to manage scurvy and bilge water isn't what this game is about.

A critical factor in real-world historic naval battles was that it took time to get things done on huge ships like these.
I always think that the AC games look really fun but then I play them and they're dull as shit
AC2 was the only one I truly enjoyed.
Will I be able to swab the poop-deck?

All it took was some chain shot and a few volleys of cannon fire to take down the ship. Then he fired some sort of automatic explosive swivel cannon at them. You have to have some suspension of disbelief.
Guys It's an adventure game. Not a simulation. Compromises have to be made for gameplay. If you're flying about in that ship for even 50% of the game I couldn't be bothered waiting a full minute for a ship to gain any type of speed. I'd be bored stupid.
No I want to stand on my boat and do nothing because there is no wind

Thank you for saying that. Just have fun with it guys.
that looks super hype i wanna see one where you play as a ronin samurai in the 1850s that'd be also awesome
Literally been waiting for this since AC2. doesn't have to be 1850's but definitely somewhere in japan in the feudal ages (which was forever anyway).
It may not have been the same kind of Assassin-y tone you might EXPECT (not that most of these games were entirely stealth) but it looks like it's going to be a great open world pirate game with the combat and navigation elements that worked well in the past games so thats all I really want. I noticed when he got on the island of misteriosa (I get it, its mysterious) there were animus fragments. Which is interesting to see whats going on in the future present world as well.

I hope you can still make the ship do front-flips in the water. That shit was so trippy in AC3.
I'm probably missing something because I haven't played an AC game since 2, but how is this an assassin's creed game? Couldn't they have just made a pirate game instead
