It's a yearly contest where each of Europe's countries must put forwards original talent (not any well known popstars or anything) with an original song to compete, and then you phone in to vote for a country.
It often comes down to politics however. We got beaten the shit out of last year due to some countries disliking Britain being in Iraq.

Look at the music we submit, and then look at what we actually listen to/make in the UK.
