Oh wow, that was both informative and cool to watch.
Holy SHIT that thing sank deep.
Like,
DEEP

That's really cool.

This is how deep the Titanic wreck is.

Sounded like the guy gets off on this :v:
This one seems more accurate to what happened.... :v:

^ That's the theory on how Amazing Athiest stuck that banana up his ass. No offence, this is off topic from that Amazing Athiest discussion thread.
Titanic meets king kong, as king kong was being transported to new york it had a terrible accident and colided with the bananic and kong lived happily ever after as he ate the boat and swam home... that's my story.
Still does not show the detail of how the iceberg damaged the hull after the collision.

They(natgeo) say it's so deep that there is virtually no oxygen present which eliminates decomposition. I imagine there are still bodies in the lower compartments, I wonder if they are somehow preserved by this.

Perhaps if they are in completely sealed compartments. If they're not, well, the sea floor is teaming with scavengers that survive completely on corpses that fall to the bottom. If there's a way in, they'll find it.
There were still people inside the ship as it went down, and due to air pockets they didn't drown right away.
I imagine the pressure must have hurt like hell.

There are probably a fair deal of workers down in the engine room who were trapped by the lockdown of the compartments to contain the flooding, assuming their airtight design wasn't compromised when the ship settled on the bottom. Would be incredibly eerie, aswell as incredibly amazing, to explore the ship with a robot and find a room of perfectly preserved 100year old corpses.
Who knows, maybe one day someone might pull the titanic wreckage out from the sea.
"New CGI of how Tit" was the home page. Anyway, god damn that is amazing.

If they do, they'll get arrested. That's basically desecration. I think all museums and governments forbid ANY pieces of the Titanic to be retrieved.

If I recall a guy on natgeo said the site isn't protected at all and anyone could dive to the ship. However, only scientists and filmmakers have the resources to make the trip to the wreck and dive that deep.

Well the rear of the ship imploded, so it's likely the bulkheads broke and they aren't sealed.
The sheer size of that fucking ship is so surreal that imagining this up close if just fucking unreal.

fuck it rhymed i'm sorry
I bet one of the people that sank with the Titanic found eternal life and is still living down there. Sort of like the third indiana jones where Indiana finds the Knight of the Holy Grail.
If you were in a room with enough air in it, would it be possible to stay alive and stuck in a room all the way down to the bottom without dying?
