Some creepypastas actually use these kind of nocebo effects.

I'm immune to nocebo's so I wouldn't know
it makes me more confused than concerned, that, and I just interpret as I go.
"What, this will hurt?... why would it?"

Reverse nocebo.

The one that really pisses me off is the lavender town one. Supposedly it's caused by binaural tones- playing two different tones in either ear- and causes headaches, sickness and suicide. It's absolute fucking crap, since I know of a few songs which use them pretty extensively, and it took me at least a year to figure out that they were there with no effects suffered in that time.
Religion in a nutshell, I think. "Believe 'this'". Honestly not wanting to start any wars, but that's what I related this video to.

Most supernatural phenomenon can be attributed to this :v:
This is really interesting stuff. I've always wondered how far a nocebo could go, to a point where it could maybe even cause death. Call it a morbid curiosity, maybe. For instance, a realistic setting involving you getting unknowingly captured. You then are bound and a gun is pointed to your head. The gun "fires" but nothing comes out, just the typical gunshot sound and smoke. Would you believe you been shot and therefore die because your brain believed it was killed?
Spooky stuff.
Isn't the Nocebo effect like 99% of what Faith Healing does?
Also a funny thing about this is that I was taught from earlier years by my father that certain drugs are highly addictive, but if you drink juice, you won't feel a thing.
I know this is absolute crox, but my younger years of learning this has actually somehow made my body believe this type of thing, so whenever I am coming off a painkiller from a wicked dentist surgery, I end up drinking a ton of juice, and any actual real withdraw effects seem to magically numb away.
Pretty weird shit really.

Death via shock happens a lot, so it wouldn't be all that big of a surprise.
I can actually hear the high pitched ringing. I really don't want a headache....

Placebo effect is the opposite of the nocebo effect. Getting good side effects from what you think is helping. Just a friendly FYI.

Ah alright, yeah that does make sense. Still kinda weird though how it works.

i find that binaural beats can help calm me down and whatnot depending on the pitch and speed but no negative effects like headaches and whatnot

You're only really immune to a nocebo if you know that it's a nocebo. It's an empathy thing, and unless you're a psychopath I highly doubt you're immune to everything.
I have a feeling that this can be massively abused.
