I wonder what Vangelis would think of this :v:
Best part of the opening ceremony.
Man, he's really getting up there. :(
what are you talking about he looks the exact same to me now as he did like 20 years ago
I don't know about that.

He looks pretty much the same, only major difference is some grey hair. He looks pretty good for being 57 years old anyway.

really the only noticeable difference after all these years is his hair is turning grey. if you honestly think he hasn't aged well then you haven't seen many older people
Opening ceremony was on at 5 in the morning over here, so I missed it all :(
Was it as good as Beijing?

Hes certainly aged well compared to Paul McCartney who looked like his face was melting.

It was definitely funnier.
He still hasn't lost his touch, It would of been greet if Angelos Epithemiuo was there aswell.
That was awesome. I'm gutted I missed the opening ceremony though.
I don't know about that.

Dude, you're using a squashed 4:3 image to compare..

So they got Mr Bean, but not The Doctor?
Damnit.

For those disagreeing, the reason I said "damnit" is that during an episode of Doctor Who, The Doctor and his companion go to the year 2012, in which the London Olympics take place. The Doctor ends up being the one to carry the torch. It'd be insanely fitting if they managed to get Tennant to carry it.

Oh, and it's not like it's 50 years of British television history or anything

yes
Damnit.
no
Why didn't he get into the green mini when he was driving on the beach.
Missed opportunity there.
During the beach scene I just imagined him driving by them on a bicycle, ringing the bell twice.

He doesn't look as bad as Gene Wilder

Is it just me or does Roan Atkinson actually look better than he did twenty years ago?
I was really impressed with the opening ceremony, of course Britain is meant to be "lol so pessimistic" so everyone expected it to be shit or go wrong. I expected it to be good and it was better than I expected.

And at least we didn't have fake singing and fireworks like China 2008

That episode was lost to the Cracks of Bad Episodes and Continuity Episodes. I mean, Cracks in time.

Gene Wilder is pretty boss though, no matter how he has aged. Gene Wilder is also considerably older than Rowan Atkinson - 22 years older, and he's really just losing his hair, though that is also one of his defining features. Appears that he also had cancer some years back, so I'd say he's looking pretty good. And Rowan Atkinson is one of those persons that looks the best with a few years behind them.
Did they cut out a bunch. I watched a version on liveleak and it was much longer and sounded more continuous. This one cut and skipped.

This was one of the few great pieces in an otherwise really cheesy, saccharine, and disappointing opening that was much worse than Beijing.
at least we didn't have fireworks
um what are you sure about that

Well he's 79 years old now, of course he's going to look like that.
I'm not sure if this part was better, or that bit where those Victorian dudes in top-hats just randomly started dancing out of nowhere. the whole ceremony was pretty funny.
He still does it spot on, wow.
I still got the old VHS tapes of his show, I haven't watched them in 6 years and they're in my nans house
I must get them and journey back
