Uploaded by Sony Pictures Belgium Thanks to lilguy for the mirror!
It was hard watching this movie as a car guy - the fact he's drifting a WRX like it's RWD is just, weird. I loved the choreography but there were so many technical aspects they failed on.
I hope that they'll upload the coffee run. That scene was so elaborate and cool.

being a professional getaway driver would be so sweet
best movie of the year by far

Edgar Wright pitching his new movie to Sony: "Wow guys, have you ever heard of music? Just discovered it the other day. Brilliant stuff, let's make a movie about it."

He's had the idea for years, even used it for a music video once.

This is the only thing I e seen of the movie, not seen any trailers or anything. I really want to see it now
I've been saying it since I saw it at SXSW in March: This was and continues to be the best movie I've seen this year and everyone and their grandmas should go see it.
That was some fucking beautiful driving, holy shit.

He's just got it set up as rear biased as possible. WRXs can powerslide, they just aren't capable of the massive skies a purely rwd car is, but he's not doing that so it's not a problem. How do you think they shot the flick with real cars if it's not possible to do the things the car is doing?

So whatever argument your making here is moot.
This movie is a joy to watch for the cars, guns, and the absolutely choice music selection. I heavily recommend seeing it.
Oh dude, this was filmed in the town just an hour out from mine. I recognize those streets.

If it looks familiar, that’s because Fry performed a very similar stunt in Drive using a Ford Mustang GT which is often overlooked. “As cool as I thought it was, not many people seem to notice it too much which was a little disappointing,” he says. “We were able to shoot it better in Baby Driver. The turn was more pronounced at the end – it came out really well. We built a rear-wheel drive Subaru just for that gag.”
The thing I hate about scenes like this is without fail you can see the tire marks on the road of all the previous takes
By the way, to anyone who may not have noticed. The whole scene (and likewise, the entire movie) syncs up with the music. I don't just mean the few obvious bits where he is dancing, but literally everything.
That was as satisfying as Bullitt's chase scene. I gotta see this movie.
The opening scene was great but what really blew my mind was the scene with the Avalanche driving on the wall. It wasn't as cool as the opening but I honestly was not expecting to see that [editline]13th July 2017[/editline] the hawkeye sti is my favorite after the meaneye and this movie might have raised the rice tax on it [editline]13th July 2017[/editline] o man, I forgot about that satisfying turbo whistle
aaaand they took it down, great.
Damnit, I wanted to see how well the soundtrack actually synced given the trailers invariably chop it up and replace all the music
Mirror?
http://www.carbuzz.com/news/2017/6/22/EXCLUSIVE-Why-Baby-Driver-Used-A-Subaru-As-The-Main-Stunt-Car-7739624/
You can literally see that the front wheels aren't spinning with what is usually an AWD car. Just looks odd, is all. Although, ultimately, they did manage to perform the stunt with a regular WRX badged as an STI with some minor modifications, which is very impressive:
With both the right and left rear suspension damaged in the rear-wheel drive Impreza, Fry was asked if the same stunt could be performed with an all-wheel drive car. “I didn’t think it would look as dramatic as you couldn’t hang the back out as much. But we only had that location for the day so we didn’t have a choice. We went for it and it just wasn’t working.” Determined, Fry tried the stunt again in a different car after the team made some minor modifications such as disconnecting the e-brake. Remarkably, the stunt you see in the trailer was performed in a stock WRX disguised as an STI. “I don’t know if it was because what the picture guys did or me getting lucky with the timing. We did the first take and it looked pretty good. I tried it again and the second one was what you got. We were stoked.”
