I must say, i'm amazed.
I knew the universe is infinite, but not the scales!
Mind = blown
and yet I keep meeting the most fucking annoying person in the universe every single fucking day

Yet the universe is growing.
Space is a really bleak subject, we'll probably never find the biggest star.
BUT HOLY HELL 900 YEARS.
I really want to know what these gigant stars and planets look like at their surface.
I love the music for the videos. Makes the universe seem so grand and your existance so small. :unsmith:
Yet the universe is growing.
Is it really growing? Or is it stretching?
Space is a really bleak subject, we'll probably never find the biggest star.

We've actually found out how big a star can really get though(as far as our knowledge of Physics goes).
http://www.universetoday.com/2008/04/06/what-is-the-biggest-star-in-the-universe/
University of Minnesota professor Roberta Humphreys recently calculated its[VY Canis Majoris] upper size at more than 2,100 times the size of the Sun. Placed in our Solar System, its surface would extend out past the orbit of Saturn. Light takes more than 8 hours to cross its circumference!

The largest stars will be the cool supergiants. For example, VY Canis Majoris is only 3,500 Kelvin. A really big star would be even cooler. At 3,000 Kelvin, a cool supergiant would be 2,600 times the size of the Sun.
We will probably never find that star, but we know how big they can get at least.

Bleak subject? It's the most fascinating subject there is.
Is it really growing? Or is it stretching?
If I remember correctly space is stretching, the amount of matter in the Universe is constant but the space stretches out so matter becomes farther and farther away from each other.

It also has a way of making you feel extremely small and insignificant.

That's because you are.
That's because you are.
Yea but I shouldn't have to feel that way. :v:
I can't believe the universe is infinite.
Nothing is infinite.

You'll love this then.

My favorite quote ever.
You are so tiny!
I remember seeing a video about the universe and life being about rotations, swirls, I think someone posted it on here. It showed the Milky way and the human heart cell next to eachother at the ending, they both looked the same. (If anyone has seen it, please post!) I'm always amazed and I get a shiver when I see these videos, thanks for posting.

Carl Sagan is turning in his grave. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I love science.
Does anyone else wish they were born 1000 years from now? I would love exploring the stars.

You are so small! It's funny to me!

What makes me so sad is that even in 1000 years we probably won't have the technology to travel to the corners of the universe. Even if we would have it, we would still be long dead. All I want to do is experience it once, and that would be good enough for me.

First grade education:
Numbers are infinite. There's always a bigger or smaller number.

Thanks A LOT, I've been looking for this for I can't even remember how long! No idea how you found it but thanks again. I wish we knew everything about space and why it exists, how it started, but at the same time I just don't want to know, it's the biggest mystery that we'll never find out in our lifetimes.
HOLY SHIT!

Auto-Tune Came from space!
(Antares made auto tune, google Antares auto tune and you'll see)
Seen all these before, but still awesome nonetheless. When you consider the vastness of space, it makes it difficult to think that there isn't extra-terrestrial life out there, problem is due to the sheer scale of the universe (which is growing) we may never make contact.
holy shit that just showed me the likely hood of aliens and I mean life forms like us who have civilizations all across their home planet, not just animal type ones.
Heres a related and depressing fact.
Eventually there will be no free energy in the universe, causing everything in it to become very close to absolute zero in temperature. Meaning there will not be enough energy to support motion, let alone life.

I can't read/watch this stuff. Makes me feel so small and like absolutely nothing. Then I think of death. Then I cry. :crying:
