Dear god, the "White Genocide" crowd in the comments section.
That racist phantom actor is fucking good, damn.
Now I really badly want to know who the actor was for The Invisible Discriminator. I hope he's been in bigger things.

Wow, they HAVE a "Behind the Scenes" but they only show the people who were being discriminated, not the rest of the main actors. :I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_AbjhXv0cI
Yeah, If I'm a 20-something girl walking into a crowded bus, and some creepy-ass elder instantly removes his bag for me sit next to him while giving me the rape-face that's not fucking freaky at all. How in the fuck does that have anything to do with racism? I don't care if he was whiter than paper I'd still not sit next to someone so eager for me to sit next to him.
As a bonus point why wait so long to remove your bag from the chair when it's obvious the bus is already crowded?
I felt really sorry for bus dude.
He's a good actor.

The reason he tried to look at her was because he wanted to notify her that the spot was free, as she would have been left to stand otherwise.
It's common courtesy to offer an empty seat to someone, and maintaining at least a slight amount of eye contact is a cue that you're willing to give up your seat instead of leaving your bag there like a fucking douche.
His way of looking at her didn't seem suggestive of anything other than him trying to be polite and spare her the discomfort of standing.
The reason he didn't lift his bag until later on was so that he could give her an indication that he was willing to give her his empty seat.
What I find weird about this is that despite myself being as white as paper, I actually prefer to sit by or be in the company of a minority, I don't know why but I just don't trust white people as much.
This commerical only reminded me how odd that really seems.

I find more discomfort in someone trying really hard to offer me a spot to sit then actually standing honestly. Cultural differences I guess, but over here no matter what color your skin is with that kind of behaviour you're pretty much telling me there is a 50% chance you're going to rob/assault/bother me. Besides, why put your fucking bag on a seat at all? Gives me even more incent that you're an inconsiderate bastard.

Holy shit those white people are very racist.

Probably, but my point is there are over a million reasons she didn't sit next to that guy and it's immediately assumed that she is a racist bastard. Nice.

Well for all intensive purposes for this advert it was. How hard is that to grasp?
Of course most people know that there could be a million reasons for such a situation in real life. But this is an advert to make people more aware of racism.

i think it's a little more nuanced than her just being "a racist bastard"
to me it was more about internalized biases against certain kinds of people
Except for the first dude, all the other Indigenous people looked almost white to me. I thought the lady getting interviewed was the racist for a second.

Not everyone is 100% aboriginal, they may only have part indigenous blood, but they still are and identify as indigenous

I really fail to see how "someone's getting on and she'll probably prefer to sit down, better free up the seat" equates to "oh man look at that fresh meat, I bet if I free up the seat I'll have a good grasp at her wallet".

I know how you feel man. I'm Asian and I only feel comfortable around a mix of races, if there's too much of one race it just makes me uncomfortable, especially if it's a bunch of Asian people.

Most Australian Aboriginals are half-caste but doesn't make them any less indigenous

you must be REALLY bad picking up social cues if you think somebody moving their bag into their lap and making eye contact while smiling is a "rape face"
they didnt even look aboriginal

Anthophobian stepped onto the bus and handed over the money for a return ticket. "Have a nice day." said the bus driver, giving him a friendly grin as he handed Anthophobian his change. Anthophobian scowled back at him, pushing his sleeves over his hand to prevent his skin from touching the coins the 'friendly' driver had undoubtedly coated in his own semen when no-one was looking.
It was a busy Saturday afternoon, and so the bus was packed. An old man near the middle of the bus noticed Anthophobian and moved his bag off the seat next to him so he could sit down. Anthophobian promptly grabbed a handrail and gave the old man the finger, smirking at how easily he had foiled the attempted rape as the bus began to move.
By the time Anthophobian had arrived in the city center, the voices in his head were shrieking like nails on a blackboard. He hurried to the bus door, but to his horror, the man and woman in the front seats moved back out of the aisle to let him out first. "A trap!" screamed a particularly loud voice Anthophobian had christened 'The BoneWhisperer'. "They've covered the ground outside of the bus door with RapeMines!" Anthophobian lowered himself to the floor in the fetal position, and didn't stop yelling until the nice men with the coats came to take him back home to, as he called it, The White Pillow Safety Chamber.
So you're telling me that if I become a racist asshole, I get to have that guy whisper shit in to my ear in that voice
hmnnnn

If having a white guy wear a black turtleneck with skinny jeans who hasn't cut his hair or had a shave in 5 months is your type of shit then be my guess

Well this got wired fast.
