Spoilers for the newest [sp]and worst[/sp] season of Walking Dead I guess?
[sp]I AM STILL MAD FOR THE DEATH OF THE BOATMASTER[/sp]
Also:
We are 3 episodes in [sp]Still no Alvin Jr reveal, in fact the only time we've seen him is in flashbacks. Hell still no big scary group of enemies like in the trailers either. They fucking HELPED CLEM AND AJ FOR GODS SAKE[/sp]
Still looks better than season two.
Season 2 at least had a idea where it was going after a episode. Season 3 is just a mess.
I kinda wish they had kept it at Season 1, the ending of it was so impactful, conclusive and well received I really don't think it needed anything else. I don't think any season will really top what they got right in season 1/.
also the revolving door of character deaths/introductions really wore on me with TWD show, so maybe I'm just jaded :v:
You know what annoyed me the most in S2 when compared to S1? The amount of Ben-tier characters.
They are there for 2 reasons: [sp]To fuck up and die horribly.[/sp] That's really it.
I mean there's the [sp]guy from the lodge, the guy on the bridge, the entirety of the walmart gang, and even the daughter of S2 Clem's group.[/sp] Even DUCK was a better character than those people.
-snip-
I don't personally mind, but you may want to put that entire last line in spoilers, not just a few words. It's like blacking out just the word "dies" but leaving the context.
after season 1 i was so hyped for season 2. pre-ordered it and played every episode of season 2 on the day each one would become available
now i can't even be bothered to care about season 3

Fixed it, but that season is like 2+ years old at this point?

Dude, come on. Season 2 was the mess. It felt completely aimless and the character writing was abysmal. The group's over reliance on having an 11 year old solve their problems became comical by episode 2.
Season 3 isn't amazing, but it feels solid enough. The plot feels cohesive, the pacing is decent so far and the fact its supporting itself on characters that aren't clementine is pretty amazing considering that's the only person people care about anymore.
Honestly, how they're handling the new frontier is my favorite part of it. [sp] They're basically bad guys for two episodes and then you find out in the third they're just a mismanaged group of survivors with noble intentions. It's a good break away from what I was assuming was going to be another saviors type group. Also the slowburn on an AJ reveal is great. I thought he was dead, then alive, now I'm thinking he's dead again. It's gonna be great when we see him. [/sp]

This is just a shout out to anyone who hasn't tried season 3 yet - it's leagues better than season 2. You won't be getting anything near the quality in writing that the first season had, but it's one of the most solid telltale experiences to come out since tales from the borderlands, I think.

I find Tales from the Borderlands' writing to be "eeh... it's alright", so if that's their high point I don't wanna know how are their other games.
As for Walking Dead (Telltale), I stopped after the second episode of Season 2, which tbh is starting to bore after the senseless murdering of underdeveloped characters.

Their highpoint was really S1 of TWD. But most of their games since then have fallen flat on their face in terms of general quality, with a few exceptions. Tales being one of them.
So the wildly different endings to season two made no fucking difference whatsoever? I seem to remember Telltale saying S3 would be totally different based on what you chose. This alone is reason enough for me to never play it, fuck that.

It's Telltale games, what did you expect?! They lie to you as soon as you start any of their Walking-Dead-like games by telling you "the story is tailored by how you play". No, Telltale, it's not and I will remember that.

Batman was good. But I think it won the award for most disappointing endgame.

I knew that but as far as I know this was the first time they actually came out and said yeah it's gonna make a big difference.

god continuing Clem's story past season 1 was so dumb, it makes s1's ending way less impactful because now you KNOW Lee trained her right, regardless of how shitty you actually were as a guardian. should've just moved onto a brand new and unique protagonist in some other part of the country
I wonder if we'll get [sp]another flashback to Lee and Clem[/sp] this season? That was one of my most memorable parts of my playthrough, along with Kenny [sp] beating the everloving FUCK out of Carver.[/sp]
I would enjoy a bit, even if it was a rip off of the ast season. His voice actor is up there with Fillion in terms of Comfy VAs.

I've always thought that the walking dead telltale game would work better with different protags in different locations and times that have a common connection to clementine. Even if it's an incredibly small role in the story, clementine could've been the bridging theme between all of them.
The lesser focus on clem would mean that past decisions could feasibly make an impact, in terms of how clem behaves and the choices she makes.
I've also always thought that no matter what, the last 'decision' of the entirety of the telltale walking dead game should be one made by clementine and not the player, who would make the decision factoring all those made by past protags.
man, this guy makes funny as fuck TWD videos, definitely worth a watch
