I've got it pre-ordered but I can't decide if I want to keep it, cancel it or try to sell it after release :(
Tacky piece of plastic, cancel that pre-order or sell it after you receive it.
This. It looks like a cheap toy.
Leaning heavily towards one of those decisions. I'm worried that I might not be able to sell it for a good price though.
Tacky piece of plastic, cancel that pre-order or sell it after you receive it.
Or I could just enjoy it for what it is: A fake version of what is in-game. Plastic is nice because then I don't have the weight of cast iron hanging me down when if I play with it. Take a bit of sandpaper to it and it will look worn.
When you subtract -$60 for the full-priced game, did people really think that they were going to get a spectacular 1:1 prop for $60 dollars? of anything it's a nice template for further modification, but at the end of the day it is what it is; a toy. [sp]still stoked to get mine[/sp]
I wasn't expecting anything spectacular, but it still bums me they didn't use a matte finish. I just hate glossy plastic in general. I'll just have to sandpaper it or something.
The pip boy in game is glossy though, more metal gloss than plastic gloss though. I hate glossy plastic too, ugh all the grease.
for the same price you could PAY someone to make one for you custom probably or DIY [editline]2nd November 2015[/editline]
The pip boy in game is glossy though, more metal gloss than plastic gloss though. Shame that its iPhone Only. Android users gets fucked.
More often than not props like this end up being a cheap piece to toss on a shelf, I'm not sure why anyone's surprised.
Shame that its iPhone Only. Android users gets fucked.
If I'm being honest, I'll probably never use it as a pip-boy, it's just a fancy shelf prop for me :v:
Shame that its iPhone Only. Android users gets fucked.
It's not though.
20 seconds with a $5 scour pad
For 60 dollars, it isn't too bad. With all the moving parts and lights and what not. The custom 3d printed pip boys are usually 80-100 dollars without all the extra stuff, I'm not sure about the cost of making it.
Shame that its iPhone Only. Android users gets fucked.
What, its for android too, hell even windows phone.
It's not though.
Did you even watch the video? It only has sleeves for iPhone 5 and iPhone 6. While android phones vary from maker and design.
Did you even watch the video? It only has sleeves for iPhone 5 and iPhone 6. While android phones vary from maker and design.
And, did you watch it? It has multiple covers with it
This article has some big detailed pics of many different shots of the CE Pip-boy, use it to judge inaccuracies, projects etc. http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/2/9655846/fallout-4-pip-boy-photo-gallery
Did you even watch the video? It only has sleeves for iPhone 5 and iPhone 6. While android phones vary from maker and design.
During E3 they Todd said in an interview that they had sleeves for several popular android phones like the Galaxy 5, and even a uncut foam piece that you can cut to accommodate a phone that is under 5.5 inches, or somewhere around there.
And, did you watch it? It has multiple covers with it
From Official Site
"The Pip-Boy included will have foam inserts that fit iPhone 6, iPhone 5/5s, iPhone 4/4S, Samsung Galaxy 5, and Samsung Galaxy 4,"
So that's a majority of Android users not being able to insert their phones in. No nexus 6, droids, One plus x, HTC one, Google Nexus, etc.
From Official Site So that's a majority of Android users not being able to insert their phones in. No nexus 6, droids, One plus x, HTC one, Google Nexus, etc.
So, phone are all just all WAY too different to fit in there, oh wait, they aren't.
Gonna ask if the guy at my local Gamestop is still interested in buying mine. Might just cancel it if not.
dunno why people thought that a plastic toy coming with the videogame would be worth it or high quality at all
Because anything worth doing is worth doing right. It's just a wasted opportunity imo.
Because anything worth doing is worth doing right. It would be like 500 bucks, but it would be SO worth it right?

Hell, it would be better than the iWatch or whatever it was named.

Who thought puke was a good color for this
How dare bethesda softworks not develop hardware?!
What are you even saying, I said if they did that, and it cost $500, it would be worth it. The fuck you going on about.
