That's just painful to watch.
What the fuck is this shit? The most disappointing shit i've ever seen?
That looked horrible...
this is the first time I agree with any of the dislike of Battlefront. That was just bad.
that's fucking hilarious
still remember the gif of where some unlucky sods ran into vader and they got diced
and then there's this
"PRESS FIRE TO WIN FIGHT"
About as lame as "Press A to Pay Respects".
Rofl
Battlefront 2 looks way better than this

Better footage still glitchy though.
I disagree, that's not bad at all.
It only triggers on a very specific scenario (Both people doing heavy attack at the same time) and actually is a cooler little bit for the swords to interlock than be a wild weird slice-fest.
battlefront 2's lightsaber battles were just as lame. just running around trying to hit each other. it's kind of a difficult thing to pull off without making it turn based like KOTOR's
think the badness here is more a thing of execution rather than concept
I actually like the combat, but Vader's voice really bothers me its very off.
why dont they give luke his hoth clothes
"Press fire to win fight" really pisses me off and disappoints me.
that couldnt have been any more stiff

How the hell did they make using a lightsaber look worse than Battlefront 2? Those weird stiff animations look really shit.

It was alright in Jedi Knight.
without force powers it was mostly just spamming the fire button, but at least it didn't have ugly button prompts polluting the screen.
Vader's voice. Fuck.
Vader's voice. Fuck.
No one does Vader well outside of James Earl Jones.

And maybe Chad.

JKA MP wasn't just spam to win that shit required a lot of skill.
His voice is off because I'm pretty fucking sure they've just edited recordings from the movie. The quality of it sounds so awful compared to everything else going on.

future DLC
"Press fire to win"
What a fucking joke

Jedi Academy had a mod called Movie Battles, it had great lightsaber fights.
movie quotes. movie quotes everywhere.
Is that Matt Sloan voicing Vader?
So I got early access to the beta.
I'm sorry to report it's just bad.
I really wanted it to be good. I really did. It's just not.
In terms of visuals, sound design, and general atmosphere, the game gets a straight up 10/10. The timing of the music, the sound design, the chatter between characters, the sounds of weapons and explosions, it really feels like you're in one of the movies.
And then you get to actually playing the game.
-Vehicles are power-ups you pick up randomly around the map, making it impossible to coordinate having air support up when it's time to fire on the vulnerable AT-ATs. Same goes for air strikes and turrets.
-Getting to play a hero is completely random, not score or score-streak based.
-The overheating of the blasters prevents you from killing more than 2-3 people in rapid succession.
-The sniper rifle is a one shot, 7 second cool down that ANYONE can carry at all times with no penalty (besides it taking up a card slot). This means that you can play as a riflemen, see a guy far away, switch to this magic sniper and kill them from across the map, then continue to play as a riflemen. You can do this every 7 seconds.
-This was known, but the no-classes really ruins the pacing of the game. There's no need to resupply or heal or do any sort of coordination because literally everything you can use is some sort of cooldown, including grenades!
-Strafing is incredibly effective, and I mean the ultra gay rapid-back and forth kind of strafing where you just mash A and D and your character essentiallys twerks while dodging blaster fire.
-You can also bunny hop, and I mean old school style bunny hop, because there's no stamina system.
-The above two points, plus the introduction of jetpacks, and the fact that kill times are near that of Halo in some cases, makes firefights completely non-sensical and almost luck based, with people jumping around and dodging while the insane HP regen keeps them alive.
-No squads or voice chat, so coordination is just null
I really wanted it to be good but I was laughing half the time I was playing it. It's that un-fun.

I miss playing Movie Battles. How active is the community anymore? Servers still available? I want a sequel to JK3 so bad, but I feel as if it will never happen. I miss my old community...

Still alive! I play regularly. Almost always 20+ people on AOD. A little fiasco the last few weeks (movie battles lost their domain, has since gotten a new one), so the servers appear as missing unless you download a patch from the forums, or use jackluls server browser and connect with the console). There have been some really nice changes in recent patches (for instance support for OPENJK, you can now mix and match any Saber style, including purple and cyan stance in open!). Still the best multi-player SW game after all these years IMO. Check it out! www.moviebattles.org

Of all the points you listed, that bothers me the most. What is with team-based multiplayer games and pathetic (or nonexistent) cooperation mechanics? It's like they're encouraging players to ignore the objective and turn every game mode into Team Deathmatch. My friends and I have a wonderful time in Battlefield 3/4 even still thanks to being in squads together and chatting it up on Skype, and the cooperation involved helps us overlook otherwise annoying gameplay mechanics.
Here's hoping squads and voice chat are added in the near future or this game is gonna be a rough one on launch.

Okay the rest I'm not that disappointed in but this? I mean come on
