The victim, Joshua Magraff, also is a community organizer with the anti-violence group, and shared an apartment with the suspects until recently. How the hell do you get off by telling people to "stop the violence" and then to you turn around and damn near beat your former roommate to death, over some missing property?

Yeah no way, he's either going to die, be a vegetable, or he has permanent brain damage. These people are going to prison for a very long time perhaps their entire lives. Some people can turn on a dime and be unable to control themselves from even killing a person. We are all animals no matter how much we think we are civilized.

I only have to use it when I'm really hurting. My rib cartilage never healed correctly but as long as his does, he should be alright.

This story's from October of last year but there's seemingly no updates beyond that.
