Last Light was fantastic so I'm definitely looking forward to this.
I wonder if Artyom is still the protagonist. Kinda felt like his story ended in Last Light.
I wonder if Artyom is still the protagonist. Kinda felt like his story ended in Last Light.
Didn't the woman on the train shout "Artyom"? Sounded like it to me. I wonder if by showing this little village they're indicating a possible wider-area to their levels. I'm craving the follow-up to Call of Pripyat dammit.

I think there was a rumor that this game was going to be open world and the map kinda indicates that.
LET'S DO A LITTLE DANCE TOGETHER METRO IS THE DOPEST SHIT MAN
God I'm so excited dude like STALKER is awesome and all but Metro is where the real shit is at
Fuck yeah, loved the last two games
God I'm so excited dude like STALKER is awesome and all but Metro is where the real shit is at
I've never been into STALKER as much as the fanbase is, appreciated it but holy fuck Metro just ticks every box I want in a game.
I've never been into STALKER as much as the fanbase is, appreciated it but holy fuck Metro just ticks every box I want in a game.
Yeah I totally agree. Not to mention this is gonna be the first Metro game that I'll get to enjoy on my beefy ass PC instead of just my Xbox 360/One so man I am just estatic. This is gonna be the only trailer I watch for the game until release though, that trailer was enough to get me hype.
Breathable air, fantastic.
This is the 3rd iteration of "In the House in a Heartbeat" I've heard.
good sign seeing some frame drops. theyre miniscule but noticable so this isnt some fakeout. i have hopes
All aboard the hype train!
It's like a more vivid mountainous Zone I would be somewhat amused if it played a bit like STALKER with the presumably open world or at least had some of the elements
I really hope the games approach to the open world aspect will be somewhat original and different from the token half-assed open world element in games that has become a trend in the last couple of years (fucking ubisoft open world template design). Exploration has always been my favorite element in the metro games, even with the somewhat linear level design and I'm not sure how this will work out in a more open environment. Especially in Last Light I really enjoyed how there was always an obvious path forward that you could often diverge from, towards optional areas that even had their own little events and were sometimes so large that you had could spend a considerable amount of time exploring them. I actually think it is my favorite approach to linear level design and my biggest concern is that this is what 4K seem to be best at, I'm not if the same can be said for open world design. I'm also not a fan of the weapon and equipment which looks a little overdesigned compared to previous metro games. In the other games, they just looked like actual, functional scrap guns that had a lot of thought put into, from an engineering perspective. I really enjoyed looking at them and actually recognizing some interesting, competent gunsmithing concepts. They were so detailed that you could actually figure out their mechanical principles. I am sort of missing that vibe from the trailer, it looks more like generic sci-fi weapon designs with some duct tape on them. But all that nit picking really just shows that 4A have made two great games that this new iteration has to compete with. They are a competent studio that have shown a great passion and willingness to push their vision through even despite resistance. So I'm just going to put blind trust in their ability and not worry about every little thing that would normally snuff out my enthusiasm
Makes you wonder what Fallout as a series in regards to visuals would be like if it dropped the shitty ass creation engine really, given this is open world now AND looks pretty as fuck, Bethesda has no excuse. But anyway, yeah looks damn fine, can't wait for more Metro goodness.
I also like that with every game it seems like they add more crap to his arm. Swiss army arm.
Looks sweet, I've loved the previous Metro games
So hold on how can he breathe in the outside? wasnt the air like super radioactive and shit?
FUCK YES
So hold on how can he breathe in the outside? wasnt the air like super radioactive and shit?
The radiation was already beginning to fade in Last Light as the nuclear winter was ending, this seems to take place many years later so aside from hotspots it should be breathable.
"Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. Explore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line that spans an entire year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter. Inspired by the novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Exodus continues Artyom’s story in the greatest Metro adventure yet" "non-linear levels" not open world good :)
Direct Feed Also Deep Silver's Brand Manager had this to say:
...but just to be clear - we're a Metro game with some huge, open, non linear levels. But we're not one big open world. We think we have the best of both :)
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=240142140&postcount=103 Sounds like it has Crysis-esque sandbox levels or maybe interconnected maps like STALKER rather than a Far Cry-type open world
So hold on how can he breathe in the outside? wasnt the air like super radioactive and shit?
Well I'm guessing the atmosphere is beginning to recover, or at least that's what's implied.
