Sorry I couldn't find a version without a commentary.
I always hate the blame video games for everything argument. So dumb.
I've found that, believe it or not, video games actually help me become a more sensitive person, relieving any unwanted emotions into a screen instead of an actual person.
I've been playing violent video games all my life, and i've yet to punch someone.

This. I release and get rid of stress and tension through video games , ultimately making me more relaxed.
I'd love to be on one of these chat shows discussing this subject.
will someone burn that bitch

and btw, thats a post hoc logical fallacy. not that im saying you or these people are logical in any way.
Wow just wow
This has convinced me. I will never play violent video games.
Instead I will go outside and join a boxing club, that has absolutely no wrong impressions on me. It just proves how manly I am herp derpy hurpy derpy
I think I saw this before and the guy in the tan is the only one who speaks any real sense. I however would let my kids play any sort of video game they want because thats how I was brought up. All you have to do is constantly inform the kid its not real and those actions in real life shouldnt be tolerated. Im tired of these soccer mom shows spreading such nonsense.

You would? I would get up and walk away.
Most of these conservative types who always misunderstand popular culture like video games always focus on the bad aspects of the art. They make it seem like these video games are composed of only violence, no deeper message or symbolic quality or anything like that. At the end, when the man in the suit says that he has seen the hurt-locker and it is actually an anti-war film, what differs between that and a violent video game with a message, like GTA? A lot of these house-wives believe that it is a shallow game focused mainly on violence, when really it is about the gritty reality of capitalism in its extremes, which I think is deeper that most of the art or culture that those people experienced in their time.
Also, how is the Hurt Locker an anti-war film? Doesn't the main character choose to go back to the warzone at the end?
commentary was really annoying, I couldn't help closing it!

That kid's voice hurts my ears.
This is a terrible argument. If the man defending video games actually dropped the 'Parents are BUYING the children the games' point I'm sure they would have shut up. It IS up to the parents to look after their children and make sure they are not subjected to ultra-violent games. I mean, some 18 (Or M) games aren't really that bad...
I love it when people put in this mission on airport from CoD:MW2... I found it really lacking, hoped I could do more "damage" actually... it was just a simple mission, nothing special, anyway big letdown for me.
You could also see where this discussion was heading towards from the beginning. The blonde biatch (god damnit, seriously, she is really annoying) was interrupting Tim's responses all the time, but when he tried to do it once she in another annoying and disrespectful way told him to let her finish the non-sense she was spitting out.
This was just typical bashing of video games... retarded.
I've been playing Doom 1 & 2 when I was around 6 yo (I'm 22 now), moving up to more and more violent games. I like gore and blood in games, I love Sci-fiction, post apocalyptic genres like S.T.A.L.K.E.R or Fallout (easy examples) - though, I prefer Stalker, I love killing tons of NPCs or players in multiplayer.
I've played most of games heavy on violence up to date (PC or PS1 only).
I have yet to harm anyone. I'm very polite to strangers or to other people that are older than me, I never cursed on my parents, I keep calling them by mom/mommy & dad/daddy just for the sake of it, no need for me to change it to "more modern terms".
Never started a fight, though I was in fist fight only once in my whole life and that was in middle school (age 13 -> 16, the worst moment in life of any teenager imo, here where I live), that's it.
Can't stand when people are trying to convince you that video games are interfere with an ability to see differences between games and reality... this is total nonsense. In order to have problems with these, you should be closed in a basement for years, forced to play games 24/7 with no way to interact with rest of the world or have some mental illness (like blakeownzu).
Also, would I allow my kids to play violent video games?
Sure, I don't see anything against it.
I see more violence, sex and humiliation everyday on TV or even streets, than I see in video games.
Though, I would think about letting kids play some games online.
I played my first violent game when I was around 9. That game being Call of Duty 3.
It felt odd, to really get down and dirty with the whole war scenario, and it frightened me a bit.
And then the French Resistance missions came along. I saw some of my squad-mates die.
That shocked me, and I started breaking down, feeling that I betrayed my comrades.
I hadn't picked up an FPS until 2 years later, where that feeling started to die down.
However, every time I accidentally wound/kill a teammate in a game [Multiplayer or Singleplayer], I automatically shut off the game and tell myself "Why did you do that".
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of hack n' slash games like Alien Versus Predator and Left 4 Dead, but sometimes morality decides to rear it's pustule ridden head.
So, this is like.... Fox in the U.K. or something?
What the fuck does that bitch in the middle have to do with video games at all apart from being a whiny bitch?
Also, how is the Hurt Locker an anti-war film? Doesn't the main character choose to go back to the warzone at the end?
I can't tell if you are joking so I am going to respond as if your aren't. The Hurt locker is an anti war film because it shows how once soldiers go to war they become programed for war and it is hard for them to adjust to life back home. The war basically destroys their lives so often they end up going back to war because they don't know what else to do with them selves. Some similar films would be generation kill and Jarhead

What was that song playing in the first minute or so from?
Ah yes, the Alan Titchmarsh show. This was on when I came home from school one day. There was a discussion about different positions during sex. Keep in mind that this was on at 3:30pm, a time when children will be watching TV.
I remember when this documentary first hit FP, a bunch of us sent in complaint letters and got canned responses.
Before worrying about the violence in video games, I think people should be more concerned about the violence in war zones affecting children, or even the violence right down the street that's having a bigger influence on children.
...he writes erotic novels?
Just what authority does this man think he has on anything having to do with 'corrupting children'?
Is it just me or that violent movies (other than the horror genre) never really get criticized for the violence as much as video games?

its been like this for awhile
first for awhile people thought TV's were bad, now its moved on to video games since its a new medium.
i just hope we get an even newer medium so they stop bashing games and start bashing that.

I hope they stop ignorantly bashing things in general.
