RPCS3 begins to emulate several awaited AAA exclusives. Here’s how we’ve done it! https://rpcs3.net/blog/2017/12/01/rpcs3-begins-to-emulate-several-awaited-aaa-exclusives/. The moment many of you were waiting for has finally arrived. RPCS3 is now finally beginning to emulate many of the several awaited AAA exclusives. The blog post above is a MUST READ as it contains a list of known games that improved plus technical writeups explaining how we have fixed the issues plaguing those games.
Fucking incredible. I remember Ratchet & Clank being unplayable on PCSX2, and it's sort of hilarious if we get the PS3 HD remakes up and running before the original PS2 variants.
Cool. The PS3 never seemed like an architecture that would be easy to emulate. I'm impressed every time they post big updates like this.

I'm more impressed by how fast they're progressing when compared to the PS2 emulation scene.
One step closer to playing TLoU on my pc. I can't fucking wait.
metal gear solid 4 at 60 fps would be awesome to play

damn tho i feel like that would be pretty hard to do
When RDR is playable... ooooh maan
Years and years of amazing exclusives I missed out on... becoming playable at higher res and possibly 60fps?
This is the future

It'll be a long time before they get it to perform as well as it does on original hardware, it'll be a looooong time before it actually runs better. Think like ~10 years from now still.
Lbp on pc oh my goooooood

Actually they've gone a long way on that. They fixed the mipmapping issue with the textures so the games now render more or less properly. In software mode on a beefier CPU you're pretty much there. In hardware mode it's nearly perfect.
I would emulate the PS2 versions over the PS3 ones because the PS3 ones had all sorts of nasty bugs in the ports.

This video is a year old, it's only gotten better.

How about 2 and 3?
How about 2 and 3?
I can play 3 mostly fine, it doesn't crash, but could run better when a lot of stuff is happening on screen.

Ripping PS3 games is bit of a pain though. They're also fucking huge because of BD.

PCSX2 is fairly impressive if you use development builds. Doesn't come close to Dolphin or the wizardry that is PPSSPP, but it's significantly better than it was even a year ago. I'm still hanging on to hope that Play! will save us from the hell that is plugin-based emulation for the PS2.
Still waiting for Ace Combat 4 to be completely playable so I can finally enjoy the holy trinity.
You need a beast of a computer to do this though, don't you? the only ps3 title that interests me is Demon's Souls and according to RPCS3 it's completely playable, but I don't think my quad core could handle it.

Depends completely on the game. Catherine's been able to run on an i3 at full speed for months now.

It is playable on software renderer and cockpit view.
How about 2 and 3?
This is how it looked when I was playing it, but granted, it was on stock settings which caused errors on other games too. But when messing with settings fixed those games, so I'd assume the same for Ratchet and Clank 2.

Just a reminder, the latest ps3 firmware update 4.82 was exploited and CFW is possible again for anybody looking to rip their games.
hint:
[sp]se7ensins something something how to install the ps3xploit[/sp]
Here's R&C 3 running fairly well on a recent dev-build of PCSXII

Most of the lag is the 'EE' emulation, not a GPU/GS issue. The footage is 1080p, with like 4x super-sampling.

You're gonna be waiting a long time, even 5 and X are somewhat uh...funky to play on.

Hmm, I'm not sure if anyone can answer this, but do you think this could run DS?
OS
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
AMD FX-4100
Zambezi 32nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3
Graphics
1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 5670 (Sapphire/PCPartner)
Or a good place to ask this question would be ok. I can run DS3 on low at like 30fps so I dunno
Was hoping for Ninja Gaiden Sigma to get some love, not yet it seems...

Go into settings and turn on lock-strafe mode right now.

I tried DeS and skate 3 last week, DeS runs worse than when it was first listed as playable but my 2700k isn't over clocked atm, I think it helps if you have a more modern CPU with avx2 support

Only works for phat and early slim's, late slims and superslims are still incompatible.

RDR? Man I can't wait until MGS4 is playable.

Playing a PS2 game with an Xbox controller, plus the fact that widescreen mode cuts the top and bottom off the screen (and effects what you can target) makes the game harder than it needs to be.
I was surprised how much I suck, I played the shit out of R&C3 as a kid.
god damn the R&C games are so well-animated
everything looks so satisfying even slowed down
