I don't know how to feel about the fact I watched the whole thing. Especially since I've never actually played a Wolfenstein game. :v:
TNO was good but in terms of gameplay it was an awkward mix of the new and the old. While it does technically go back to the Doom style of overcharging health and armor, the game is too slow for the overcharge to be useful. It is a much more viable way to treat the game like a standard CoD shooter and take cover. Overcharge is just extra insurance but almost all the time it was a better idea to not overcharge and leave the medpacks there just in case you need to go back to heal yourself. It also failed to really give you any interesting fights as the 3 bosses were totally dull and the enemies were still CoD hitscan rifle wielders. The super soldiers with shotguns are also pretty overpowered but don't really add any new attack pattern. It's still kill them before they kill you. But there aren't say melee units that try to rush you besides the odd dog or any enemy types that are designed to force you out of cover or force you to move around. Gameplay wise it boils down to a slightly better CoD like. [editline]31st March 2016[/editline] This is on the second hardest difficulty btw
I like this guy's videos, but he could really benefit from doing multiple takes recording and maybe enunciating a little more. Instead of keeping his stumbles in there, cut and start from the last sentence, it really bugs me more than it should [editline]31st March 2016[/editline]
I don't know how to feel about the fact I watched the whole thing. It's seriously the most fun I've had playing a shooter in a long while

It's the first of the 'modern' canon, introducing deaths head and its a fuckin' pisser fps to boot. in fact, id go as far to say that i liked it gameplay wise WAY more than TNO, though TNO is pretty decent
No mention of Enemy Territory? :( I played that game for a big chunk of my life, best rank I ever got was 2nd place on the global ranking. Out of at the time 140k active players. Could have gotten to 1st place if I hadn't gone on vacation (dropping me back hundreds of spots)

Even though this guy slips up a few times he's really good at presenting his thoughts about the games, as well as keeping me watching for the entire video

without wolf et i'd have never been interested in online shooter tbh... i still play it and i play it more than the stuff i've paid for. that's actually sad but also nice. :] [editline]31st March 2016[/editline] it's almost verging on becoming a totally dead game but it's very nice to see those who actually still enjoy it see it for the uplifting game it is.

If there's enough people here we could host a small FP server for it.
If there's enough people here we could host a small FP server for it.
I'd be down. I love Wolf ET too
Wolfenstein: How B.J. Blaskowicz went from silent generic dudeman to one of the best FPS protagonists, if not the best to ever grace this Earth Is what The New Order and The Old Blood should have been called.
According to the tracker there have been 114k active players in the last 14 days. Did you play for ranking on SL?
no im noob [editline]31st March 2016[/editline] i knife people in the back when they have obj :]
The New Order was one of my favourite SP experiences of recent years and Enemy Territory has probably been my favourite MP experience.
My favorite thing about TNO was BJ's little monologues. Some were funny, but a lot had this little touch of sadness and impending doom to them that made the whole Nazis taking over the world situation so much bleaker. Especially his last monologue in The Old Blood. Like WTF dude, I just beat the game, why are you still trying to break my spirit? [editline]31st March 2016[/editline] Plus Mick Gordon and his baller musical skills.
I'm gonna say it: Wolfenstein 2009 is underrated. I wish it was back on Steam.
I'm gonna say it: Wolfenstein 2009 is underrated. I wish it was back on Steam.
I really do want to try it but my only option at this point would be to find an old console copy, or torrent the damn thing since it's not legally resold anywhere for PC as far as I know. And I would rather buy the damn game than do that.
I'm gonna say it: Wolfenstein 2009 is underrated. I wish it was back on Steam.
God no. Wolfenstein 2009 should have been a good game in all important aspects-great graphics, solid gunplay, okay story-but there's just something about this game that just makes you not care about it. Maybe it's the way the characters seem so disinterested in the world, or maybe it's the way the city has this weird filter over it, but something just makes is so so so boring to play. Ross said it best I think.
I wish I could play TNO but the damn thing kept crashing all the time.
I'm gonna say it: Wolfenstein 2009 is underrated. I wish it was back on Steam.
I thought it was totally fine. It's not really much of a Wolfenstein game but it was an okay WW2 shooter with supernatural elements. The gunplay was really satisfying, all the weapons feel really good.
The most unsatisfying thing about TNO and Old Blood is the grenades and rockets. The explosions don't sound or look good, and neither does the gore when the enemies blow up. They just disappear in a puff of red smoke.
