"Re-defining the god genre" :/
This looks very not fun.
Looks pretty shite, to be honest.
Gameplay looks like it belongs on a Facebook game.
Tedious as fuck, but hey, 40% done. I just hope they get their asses in gear and make this something that doesn't look like it belongs in a browser.
I thought it seemed alright, there just needs to be more to do and sit clicking.
Black and White was amazing because you had more actual involvement in the village, placing of houses, roads, managing supplies etc, but in this you spend 90% of your time clicking houses to get more influence, then the other 10% dragging land so more houses can be built.
Never liked these whole "god genre" games. Can even molyneux make a different type of game?
I like it..

He did for a while and every second of the way people were begging him to make more God games.
To be fair it doesn't look like he has done anything in the game yet.
Most of his complaints are valid, but saying there is nothing to do is outright false. The game is about exploration and pushing your boundaries. The more you explore, the more cards you get, and the more technology and advancements you unlock. He also hasn't even made it to the Mount of the Gods building yet, which is where a majority of the actual gameplay comes from at the moment. And he doesn't even know that the "points" are called belief. It's like he didn't pay attention to the game while he was playing it.
I played for 6 hours in my first sitting, and in that time I got around the learning curve; a learning curve that is there because there are nuances to the game that you don't find out until you've actually played the game and experimented. I reset my game and now I'm making the most efficient civilization possible since I know how everything works.
Judging by how far the guy in the video was expansion-wise, I don't think he's played enough of what he claims to be a 40% finished game to give a well-informed opinion on it.
The game has potential. Is it a good game now? No, it's not. At this point it is an experimental game. But the sculpting, power-ups, and exploration mechanics feel great, especially with the upgrades that are already in the game, and I am eager to see how much more they are going to do with Godus.

Happy to hear there is more to this game than what is being shown here. Thanks for the info, friend.

I'd have to agree, if you're going to "review" or show of a game, at least put in like 20min worth of research into what features the game has or will have.
You can make settlements which make roads to houses out to a certain radius, and all the bubbles will be funneled to that settlement. You're still limited in how many settlements you can have though, so the clicking houses issue is still there. They're getting tons of complaints on that right now, so I'd be surprised if they didn't change it.

To be honest the sculpting and digging for chests is rather finicky and kind of tedious, spending like 20k faith and clicking 100-200 times to dig up a treasure chest isn't too great :v:
I like the game so far, but it has some design issues that need to be fixed.

I can agree with this criticism a lot, I didn't go into detail on everything. Like how to get timber you have to find a card while actual trees only give you belief. I didn't say how cards are the major progression element of the game. I didn't do this because even with progression the gameplay doesn't really vary. Sure you can move 4 layers of land at once and you can make getting belief points more click-efficient but all that does is make the only 2 interactions in the game less tedious.
The rest of the experience is exploration, expansion, and destroying your civilization with god powers for some reason. By the time I filmed this I already didn't want to do any of those things and I say that in the video. From looking at other peoples stuff even coolest thing on the island to find right now doesn't seem to do anything. (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=178373267)
But again, the game is only at 40%. I also have hopes for it to get better but the way it's going right now I never expect it to be a god game I enjoying a whole lot since its full vision is very multiplayer focused.
