Mr.Blow please stop throwing cookies, it's wasteful and you're making a mess.
who does that shit on a couch?
who does that shit on a couch?
The type of guy who pisses in a bottle.
Look how much fucking money I have! Thats what this feels like to me.
Pre rec is going to watch your stream now live http://www.twitch.tv/previouslyrecorded_live
they were watching it on their laptop while everyone started watching them at the same time. They wouldn't want to rip off the uploader's work. So more then 700 people Witnessed something Mediocre, I took that joke from Rich. Edit: http://www.twitch.tv/previouslyrecorded_live/v/38075187 at 3:01:38 they read the message I sent to them, at 3:05:00 is when Rich tells the chat to click play and they watch it.
I haven't played the witness, nor do I plan to which is why I'm here, but I'm quite lost. Help?
"now fall into the tree" "oh my god they're needles in my eye" "now put your head into the oven" "put your head into the oven damn it"
When it transitioned to the ending scene, I loved their simultaneous reaction of "What the fuck?"
Pre rec is going to watch your stream now live http://www.twitch.tv/previouslyrecorded_live
jack's online, i wonder if i should send him the piss jug tweet
do it
They wouldn't want to rip off the uploader's work.
That's cool of them and I appreciate it. I probably would have been lazy and just showed it on stream. Also their shitting on it a bit earlier was funny as hell.
I haven't played the witness, nor do I plan to which is why I'm here, but I'm quite lost. Help?
Pfft, you just don't understand. It's ART you P H I L I S T I N E
Well Jack like's to make money on the videos, (he'll upload the twitch streams to youtube), if he said he wanted to salvage something. Either synch the video up for themselves with them in the corner, or email maybe tweet pre rec or jack to say it's fine to use, because I think it should be scene by others.
tbh when i first watched this video i thought it was a parody video till it showed the pee jug
you all realise this is an easteregg alternate ending right, not the games real ending
you all realise this is an easteregg alternate ending right, not the games real ending
What is the real ending then? The filename for the ending clip in this video is "end_movie.bk2".
Not to mention the area has recorders scattered about acting as the credits, which are seen nowhere else in the game.
What is the real ending then? The filename for the ending clip in this video is "end_movie.bk2".
but you can only access this ending right at the start of the game by doing a puzzle an otherwordly way - doing it normally makes it unable to unlock this area. i'm assuming it's also because this ending is the only one that has a .bk2 and the real ending is in-game? can't confirm as i haven't beaten it but why would this secret room at the start of the game lead to the real endgame?

You end your journey where you began. You can still do this puzzle after you leave, I'm pretty sure. I also want to point out that Blow has been posting visuals from the ending on his twitter for the past few days. The piss bottle. The Christmas tree.

so ur arguments as to why its the real ending even though its clearly not are 'BECAUSE IT IS! BECAUSE HE WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS BECAUSE I WATCH THIS LITERAL VIDEO!' [editline]29th January 2016[/editline]
You can still do this puzzle after you leave, I'm pretty sure.
you can't. i tried. [editline]29th January 2016[/editline] itt people who havent played the game slamming it and insisting the alternate ending right at the start of the game is the actual ending and makes the entire game a pretentious indie wank [editline]29th January 2016[/editline] THIS WEBSITE IS A LITERAL HELL

Thats what this feels like to me.
i really disagree with you there. this guy seems like the type that really takes his game development seriously and it looks lik. you can see what he's trying to do here. it's not IT WAS ALL A DREAM or anything, it's literally a video game character becoming a human and adapting to real life as if it were a video game (not being able to walk, thinking everything is puzzles, eating, observing physics) like, yeah, that's pretty corny, but i don't think this guy is the type to make a secret ending to flaunt his wealth. you can roll your eyes at the pretentiousness if you want, but i can respect the guy for being so devoted to an idea. i don't even really like The Witness that much as a game, but i can see it's beautifully crafted.
makes the entire game a pretentious indie wank
I dunno about the entire game, but this ending is 110% pretentious.
A context is lacked here, for you see purely environmental puzzles are scattered, there are obvious ones placed at spots of interest so players are bound to realize these exist, this leads players replaying the game to notice this pattern, as the puzzle cannot be done after you open the door; the lights go out, with lights being on leads you to the sun due to instincts learned from the rest of the game; you would only find out if it was in game form, not real life. Secondly, through quotes and speeches of people, the game's theme is about representation, how things are percived, human thought vs what is. The gameplay itself matches this through, you make rules from the environment to solve puzzles, making paths through shadows, grass thickness, tree branches; this also ties in with the hidden puzzles within the environment. While I think this SECRET ending is weird, it's not as out there as you may think, for most people here have been commenting on it with no idea of what the game really is.

Though how can you say something is bad about a Michel Bay film if they love transformers.
normal ending
normal ending
To anyone who has completed the game, is this ending good? seems like something they spent 5 minutes on to me.
To anyone who has completed the game, is this ending good? seems like something they spent 5 minutes on to me.
Huge spoilers ahead: [sp]You're able to finish the game after completing 7 areas and unlocking the box on the mountain. If you complete all 11 areas, you'll see that the lock on the mountain box continues on the bottom. unlocking it all the way will turn on a puzzle plate somewhere in the mountain. solving the puzzle will open a secret door where there are a ton of new puzzles. in that area there is a pillar which, when you solve it, opens up to another area, in which there is an intense timed and randomly generated puzzle that you have to solve. I have yet to complete it, but it seems that it will give you the code for a video when completed. The game also kind of tells you that you shouldn't care about goals and endings[/sp] edit: and yes the ending in the video is garbage. but that's not really what this game is about
