The snake enemy's attack seemed pretty ridiculous.
Even without it being a one hit kill, roping someone a full turn of movement away is pretty sketchy, and it only costing half the unit's turn.

Afterwards the dev expressed that some of the stranger things were liberties taken for brevity and demonstration's sake. Like enemy reinforcements getting a free shot in upon dropping down, the Viper's grab-and-bind (they'd need to move once, get nearby, and then yank someone usually unless they're close enough to yank and bind in one turn without wasting both moves), and the obvious extra player movement turn at the end for the sake of the escape.
I wanna smash and bang that snek lady.

They addressed that in the breakdown after, he said it operates much more like a Seeker from EW.
I can't wait to get my hands on this game. Man, this E3 has been awesome.
Is it just me or did they revamp the action points system? That specialist had three moves when he rescued his ally and called in the Skyranger.
Ugh those shell casings.

They cheated for demo purposes. In an actual game, he'd be dead.
Makes a lot of sense. A huge goal of the project seems to be exposing Advent for what they are so reaching martial law is part of a win condition for XCOM.
At the same time, Advent don't want bad press - so throwing powerful aliens out all the time is probably something they would hesitate to do.
Seems like a pretty good premise for the game. You can poke holes into anything but this is enough to suspend disbelief imo.
it doesn't look as impressive as i was hoping
they don't seem to be standing as close to their cover as they used to and everything looks floatier
I hope there's more unit customization this time around. Personalizing troops makes losing them all the more harder.
