To my knowledge they didn't split up, this song comes from the movie Popstar, which they were working on and came out June 3rd. Andy just happens to be the star of the movie. All three worked on it.
The plot of the movie revolves around Samberg's character becoming so successful and narcissistic that the other two members are pushed completely out of the spotlight, one even out of the band, so that explains the solo artist vibe from this one
