He nearly shot his friend at the start!
fucking noob tuber
[editline]20th December 2010[/editline]
FUCK i'm getting stung by FUCKING BEES
Holy shit, he almost shot his squad mate right in the beginning.
That was one of the most action packed helmet-cam battle footage I've seen.
Why he stands in the open in the beginning?
that was pretty intense
Where are the people running round with SMGs knifing from half a mile away?
Bee's any sticky bushes, The horrors of war.
he almost shot that guy infront of him
what's that spot over the sun?

Swamp gas
:ms:
That was pretty amazing, they guy who was recording this is really a bad-ass soldier, he ran all the way back to where he had just come from to get his buddy's bag and a frag so the enemy couldn't use it. Damn.
Wow. That shit was intense, the guy with the camera is incredibly badass.
"is he dead?" "i dont think so.." such disregard for the soldiers.. i thought that stopped in WW2

Overexponation of light for a bad camera.
It's like the lens temporarily burns.
I kind of skipped a couple parts, but did their friend turn out ok?
I didn't know the army still used those single shot launchers, they're pretty cool though.
I think his M4 jammed before the guy ran infront of him, i didn't see any shell casings fly out of it like you do in the rest of the video except for the one that flies out when he does something with it.
Kind of confuses me how he was standing around when everyone else was on the floor, though.

Yeah you're right, his gun did jam just before his squad mate ran infront of him. Lucky.

War is brutal. I'm not in the military yet, but what these people experience I'm sure the shock and reality of it all hit them hard and somewhat temporarily emotionless.

Does it matter? I'm pretty sure you're not going to walk out of cover and go over there just to check. Hell they still weren't sure if there were more still waiting or what.
Also, the guy with the cam is pretty badass imo.
I'm pretty sure it looked like he was standing up since the camera is a few inches above his head, He was probably crouching low or something.

If you notice, the only reason he didn't was because his weapon jammed, He needs to clean it, It jammed more than once on him in that video
He was a badass though, Reminds me of Tom Seizemore from Blackhawk Down, Just casually walking around while everyone else was ducking for cover
:krad2:

which part of that was disregard? he was shot in the head, the first thing you want to know is if there's any chance to save him, you don't ask "is he okay? :( <3" you ask if he's dead to get the answer you need quickly.
efficiency is the word

This. There's a reason a 9-liner only consists of single letters. When you're requesting evac, you just send those 9 letters, and they'll know exactly what they're dealing with.

The guy that got shot was ANA, Afghan National Army. They train with, and are trained by the ISAF forces, but apart from that usually don't have any affiliation. They have quite a reputation for doing all kinds of drugs on duty, aswell as rape within the units to show superiority over others. They're nowhere near the standards of professional soldiers in the more civilised countries.

Squad leaders, platoon commanders, or any other commanding officer has a tendency to want to get the best overview of the battle, which is why they rarely get as low as others, which is really stupid because they're so essential to the unit.
One of the main duties of the platoon commander and second in command's Oscars (radio guys) are to keep their dude safe, usually by telling them to get the fuck down.

It's usually the scout who does the surveying and over viewing of the battle, But i didn't see a scout anywhere, just an obvious platoon commander, and several riflemen.
