This "argument" (if it ever even was one) that FC4's box art is racist somehow died off weeks ago.
Ubisoft confirmed the guy in pink is asian / the same race as the other guy. Which he brings up.
Everyone is such a pussy.
oh no warlords look like a white guy, and dresses like a white guy MUST BE RACISMS
White people in America and Europe need to stop being offended on behalf of other people. You can't show a white person, or a vaguely pale skinned person, in a position of power without white people freaking out.

Intent is incredibly important in everything. GTA SA had nigger said in it IIRC and no one screamed racism over that, even though it's a racist slur, the implications of it were not there to be racist.
That really wasn't anyone's argument, ever It's just that every other Far Cry game has been "white guy comes in and saves people of color from themselves" And people are kind of sick of using racism as an easy trope to make a character look evil It's not a matter of "oh this game's obviously racist", it's just that a lot of people have really low hopes when it comes to this sort of thing since they deal with racism every day But ever since the second leak, people know the main character's probably not white, so people aren't as annoyed any more, and the villain's not white so the writers don't have that trope to lean on So no one is complaining anymore
It's just that every other Far Cry game has been "white guy comes in and saves people of color from themselves"
I get your point, but the first FarCry was about an american freelance boat captain getting stranded on a tropical archipelago due to a group of mercenaries destroying his boat, later fighting against mostly white, previously mentioned, american mercenaries hired by a crazy German/Austrian scientist, and the second one had a fairly wide variety of playable characters with different ethnicities, hired to kill an american arms-dealer, while fighting both other foreigners of the unnamed north/middle-african nation, as well as people from said nation. The third one was about an american tourist getting stranded on an archipelago ruled by an international group of pirates suppressing the natives. In my opinion, the FarCry-series could only be seen as nationalistic/racist through the message "Most foreigners are in your territory to sabotage/steal your resources"
The only one that is even applicable to is FC2.
Last I checked the Jackal was a white dude in FC2.
Wait that box cover actually created controversy? What the fuck is wrong with people? It's a fucking box cover of a fiction game.
If you can't tell that this dapper motherfucker wearing the pinkest of suits and possibly forcing this guy to hold a grenade isn't the bad guy, you have some severe tunnel vision. If someone's doing something bad, like holding a gun out or looking at the camera deviously or litterally holding someone down, we can take a shot in the dark and say that guy is the antagonist.
Last I checked the Jackal was a white dude in FC2.
Last I checked the Jackal was just an arms dealer. He wasn't the bad guy, he just had a fucked up solution to the war which was happening. If he wasn't selling guns to both sides someone else would. The player does far more damage to the country than the Jackal does, and they can be white, black, asian, hispanic, male and female.
The real villain of Far Cry 2 was the water.
