My favorite 3d fractal.
Anyone mind telling me what that is, googling it didn't come up with anything.

I want one.
this is how aliens design their space crafts.
must have been a bitch to render.

It took 169 hours or something to render.

You've probably seen these before:

It's about recursion basicly. The thing shown in the video is a 3D equivalent of this ^
I havn't seen anything like that before :saddowns:
Be cool if they implemented this into certain games to give them a more alien feel.
It also reminded me of "I'm Blue" from Eiffel 65

Mandelbrot looks so organic it makes me want to vomit
Fractals arn't technically meant to have "centers" as they have self similarity. the closer you get to finding the starting point the more shit keeps propping up. I shall use this as an example.
take the equation X1=X1/2 where the answer you get (e.g. 1/2) gets plugged back into the equation, you will never reach 0. Thats what a fractal is, you will never reach the fractal "0"
Could have just said it was infinitely small

looks like dancing feces

But that can be misconstrued, If i said a needle was infinitely sharp then it would keep tapering down to a point. However, it would still have a theoretical mathematical point. a fractal does not, thats the beauty of them.
Wait a minute, in the "trip to the center" video, the ending point was the same as the starting point.
Did the camera just went through the thing and got out in the end, or did the thing contain... itself?
MY MIND!
The program used to create and render this was linked to in the description of the video if anybody's interested, I just downloaded it.
Rip Benoit Mandelbrot, he died just a while ago.
