i really dont get why people bitch that hard about being thrown off edges you have the ability to counter a guardbreak and you shouldnt be standing in areas you can easily be thrown off an edge its called punishing
Okay this i gotta know because in open beta i fucking hated guardbreak How do you counter it?
Okay this i gotta know because in open beta i fucking hated guardbreak How do you counter it?
you guard break yourself. it's the same thing as teching throws in fighting games.
Whenever i time it right i still get broken though. Fucking peacekeepers
Whenever i time it right i still get broken though. Fucking peacekeepers
blame p2p, because that's how you do it.
Tbh at least in the beta you could just spam guard break without repercussions. It it works, it's a free hit or throw, if it didn't, nothing happens.
I made one guy super mad when i would guardbreak him, shove him into a wall, then shield bash him. It covered so much distance that it would be super easy to get environment kills on him. There was nothing he could do about it once I got the first break in. This was brawl mind you. So when my teammate died, he got so mad he started doing 2v1's and spamming in chat.
Whenever i time it right i still get broken though. Fucking peacekeepers
well clearly you aren't timing it right if it doesn't work????? the second after they guardbreak me and that little shield pops up, I guard break back and it cancels out of it. [editline]15th February 2017[/editline]
if he never changed how he played to get around it (eg: not trying to bait attacks from you 100 percent of the time) then he deserved it people need to figure out that adaptability is p important, if your combo that you love to use works on 90 percent of players and you dont have shit for the 10 percent that can counter it then oops you are gonna lose to those people constantly, and youl face more of them as time goes on.
I don't get salty if I lose a round or two. I always adapt to the techniques they use, and then bait them to punish them at their own tactic. I find a lot of people suck dick when it comes to adapting, and the minute you mix things up or don't attack how they expect, their shitty rehashed combos are meaningless and they just stand there not knowing what to do cause they're frightened of the inevitable curbstomp that's rolling their way. Or even more fun, they keep trying the same tactic over and over then get super butthurt when I don't fall for that shit again.
Doesn't guard break only interrupt light attacks? So throw out heavies and you can deter the opponent from trying it or take a faceful of damage. Guard breaking is also super close range so you have to be close, and at that point the opponent is probably thinking about guard breaking too. Basically new players aren't spacing themselves from the opponent properly
Guard breaks never interrupt any attacks. If they get the guard break off early and you initiate a light / heavy attack after, you'll get guard broken out of it. And throwing out heavies as advice is shit-tier. Do that and you'll be in a world of parry pain. Heavies are easy to dodge / parry especially if you keep doing the same ones.

I've only played the game for a few hours, I can't remember many instances where someone actually parried me Guess that's the quality of player you get in an Open Beta

1v1 is so easy when all you do is play 2v2. I'm on a 7 game winning streak. I lose max 1 round out of the entire duel. Feels good, man, especially when I'm one of the few people actually parrying. [editline]15th February 2017[/editline] Played against a Lawbringer. Was parrying all his unblockables, generally just fucking his shit up. But his guard defense was on point, couldn't get a single grab on him until I started grabbing after a parry. His blocking was really good too, he recovers so fast. After I'd parry him, he'd be ready to block a light attack instantly. Most other classes have a much larger recovery time. [editline]15th February 2017[/editline] Also, you can crash people's games by readying up prematch and then leaving the split second before they ready. Just happened to me cause the guy was mad.
is this one of those games that's easy to play but difficult to master?
is this one of those games that's easy to play but difficult to master?
Pretty much. The combat system takes a little while getting used to, but at first you'll do fine. Once you go up against players that know how to do things like Parry, counter guard break, feinting, combos for their character, and stuff like that you're in for a world of hurt.

is the game any good
is the game any good
Depends. Do you like beating people to death with medieval weaponry?
Throwing people off cliffs and watching the rage is why I built my crest around doing just that. I get salt now before the games even begin.
I was fighting a Peacekeeper and getting my ass kicked by the grabbing and bleeding so I got gud at counter-grabbing. After I started perfectly counter-grabbing his grabs, it really spooked him so he stopped doing it and then I noticed that he didn't know how to counter-grab himself so I just grabbed him a bunch and killed him that way. It was like pottery. I learned a valuable lesson today. I can counter-grab decently now. [editline]15th February 2017[/editline] Oh wow I thought this was the For Honor thread. Woops.
