Recently got into this series myself. Pirate's curse absolutely kicks ass in my opinion. I'm very curious to see what way forward are doing with half genie hero.
Pirate's Curse seems a whole lot more plain for its traditional set-up, but considering the two games before it really don't seem to do justice to their original ideas that greatly, I get the feeling Half-Genie Hero's Risky Mode may end up better received than the standard Shantae gameplay should Risky literally play like Pirate's Curse (and have tweaked level design for her abilities).
