• TF2 Replay Rainblower Taunt Kill

Was able to uncrate a Strange Rainblower and got this nifty new taunt kill. Unfortunately the Reply system doesn't show the rainbow world. This is for the Replay achievement. See if the views count this time. If you reply with a video link to a TF2 Replay I will give you a view too. 7 seconds of the actual kill. 50 seconds of wasted space. You could have cut it down a bit.

I was also talking a bit but the render didn't capture it when it was uploaded to YouTube.
the render didn't capture it when it was uploaded to YouTube.
This statement makes no sense.
This statement makes no sense.
It didn't capture his mic input in-game when he recorded the replay.

I got a taunt kill with the new scorch shot
I got a taunt kill with the new scorch shot
Nice shot
OP this isn't youtube, we don't care about views/backstory/whatever the fuck.
OP this isn't youtube, we don't care about views/backstory/whatever the fuck.
I don't see whats bad about a little backstory on a video. You're correct on the views, though.
OP this isn't youtube, we don't care about views/backstory/whatever the fuck.
I care about views because there is an achievement in TF2 for views of a replay. That's the only reason for this video really. For a video I actually did some work on here is a sample. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1qRjJecdf0
If you want a view achievement, make a good video
If you want a view achievement, make a good video
Since you "dumbed" the video I actually took my time on, what would you suggest to improve?
Since you "dumbed" the video I actually took my time on, what would you suggest to improve?
Three main things that I care to expound upon. One:
edit: added some music to fill in the 50 sec of running around
Not the way to handle dead space in a video. If you have dead space, you cut it out. And even if the full video has plenty of content, most successful videos don't have loud jazz playing over them, if you want to think of it that way. Two: If you want people to watch a video, make it pleasant to look at. The camerawork spends an inordinate amount of time in the first 11 seconds against a wall. Three: The video ends abruptly when the sentry kills you. Turn it into a punchline [editline]29th June 2012[/editline] And last but not least:
This is for the Replay achievement. There is only so much one can do to the video in the editor and unfortunately you have to upload the video to YouTube directly from the game in order for the achievement to be counted. I could only add the music after the fact on YouTube (and I only did that because it was better than no music). I realize I could have done a better job even in the game editor. And as far as my comment about the video you "dumbed", I was referring to the second video I posted in this thread, my TF2 Compilation. "Turn it into a punchline" - I actually did say, "booya" right before the sentry killed me but the replay system removed it when the video got rendered for some reason.

That's the only reason for this video really." From my experience in the editor (and native youtube editor, if that doesn't screw with it), not running the camera into a wall and cutting out 50 seconds of preamble is not impossible. [editline]asd[/editline]
(and I only did that because it was better than no music)
Nope

I'm just spent 15 minutes watching that video, and the only thing I'll say about it is that easily most of the video could have been cut down to several small videos and been good on their own. Shot of you blowing 3 people off a cliff at once: Cool beans, would have been a good video by itself (And end with that, instead of making the viewer watch another 10 seconds of bad camera to watch a reflection kill) Slow motion shot of you laying down 3 stickies next to a sentry nest and only blowing up a dispenser: What the fuck Also, the music, again

I usually make longer videos because I only really look at YouTube when I have time to kill. I usually spend time on the channels I subscribe to watching their let's plays which are usually at least 8 min long and at time wish they would be longer. That's just me though heh I'm not understanding your dislike of the music though.
I'm not understanding your dislike of the music though.
I'm more overreacting to how ungodly loud/unfitting it is. Soft background music is usually the best way to go if you feel like adding music. Jazz or a TF2 theme being played louder than the in-game audio is a sure way to keep interest divided away from the video's content

I did turn the music WAY down in the editor I use. Guess I will have to work on turning it down even lower. And again, I thank you for your time.
And you had to have the 50 secs of running around.....why? Common sense....please go get some before you make more videos.
And you had to have the 50 secs of running around.....why? Common sense....please go get some before you make more videos.
I trimmed what I could off the beginning with the YouTube editor. I can't edit beyond that at work. And like I said above, I also liked the kill on the heavy.
I've also used the YouTube editor to give the video an old fashioned feel. We had severe weather yesterday here in Ohio or I could have edited it a whole lot better. Once I get a chance I will be uploading a much better video with the suggestions I saw here.
