Damn, even language was specifically chosen to save time. [editline]17th April 2016[/editline] http://pastebin.com/ze6PQmMu
Why does it say without loads when the speedrun uses quicksaves and quickloads?
Loadscreen transitions, not saving or loading
Why does it say without loads when the speedrun uses quicksaves and quickloads?
no they mean without counting loading screens towards the overall time

That isn't running the entire game. That's only doing a few quests..
That isn't running the entire game. That's only doing a few quests..
do you know what any% means
do you know what any% means
Broken text?
Broken text?
it means he beat the game at any percent, not 100 percent.
it means he beat the game at any percent, not 100 percent.
Oh, That just fowl taste in my month. I can't imagine why you would only speed run a specific section of the game. Anyhow! Thanks for the information.
Oh, That just fowl taste in my month. I can't imagine why you would only speed run a specific section of the game. Anyhow! After playing 4 I forgot how ancient looking New Vegas looks. Looks almost as old as HL2 in some aspects.
After playing 4 I forgot how ancient looking New Vegas looks. Looks almost as old as HL2 in some aspects.
Everything about FO3/NV looks older than HL2 to me.
This is a very common thing in speedrunning. Most often the limiting factor for language in most games which are speedran is text write speed, that is to say the speed at which the text is written to a text box in a game using a scrolling text box system resembling Zelda's or most JRPGs. For those games, Asiatic languages tend to be the fastest because less characters are required to write the same amount of information, so the text tends to scroll faster. Here however it's the result of the voice acting or translation, and for whatever reason the way the Italian translation came out means it is the fastest. It could be because of minor script changes or because of the speed at which Italian is naturally spoken, or it could've just been the voice actor themselves, or any combination thereof. I don't speak Italian so I cannot begin to understand what they are saying, but the only thing that matters to speedrunners is that it is fastest. It doesn't really matter to hear or read what is happening either because you memorize what to do through constant practice, so even if you don't speak or read the language of the game you're speedrunning all you have to do is recognize patterns. The symbols or sounds ultimately don't matter.
I am italian, and it might seem faster, but is actually slower than spanish for example. And also, I can even say that Italian translations of New Vegas isn't neither that goor nor that bad, even though sometimes there are some nonsense script words.
Everything about FO3/NV looks older than HL2 to me.
Half-Life 2 was so ahead of it's time with it's graphics, it's a wonder how it worked so damn well on older computers.
After playing 4 I forgot how ancient looking New Vegas looks. Looks almost as old as HL2 in some aspects.
And yet NV is still the better game.
And yet NV is still the better game.
they're almost completely incomparable?
they're almost completely incomparable?
yeah its like apples and feces
