Looks fucking gorgeous. There are not many games coming out that I am excited for. This is one of them.
Frostbite engine probably. EA is pushing Frostbite on most of their new games.
They said in the conference it is Frostbite.
I'm interested to see what they do with it, but I'm also seriously afraid they'll fuck it up

It looks amazing.
Bioware is really not great at faces still. Aside from that, looks nice enough. I like the ME1-esque armor designs but I still hate the full face bucket helmets.
can we fuck the big angry thing?
I'm interested to see what they do with it, but I'm also seriously afraid they'll fuck it up
Casey Hudson left, so he can't ruin it this time. I'm hype as shit. I'm beyond hyped for this game! The only question I have is where in the timeline this game (or at least the pre-Andromeda part) fits. It looks like it's pre-ME3, while most fan theories (including my own) placed it around the beginning or end of ME3. BioWare wouldn't risk making it post-trilogy and make one specific ending choice canon, so the question is if it's during the trilogy or possibly even pre-trilogy.

Edit for proof: http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/06/15/e3-2015-first-mass-effect-andromeda-story-details-revealed "According to the developer blog, Mass Effect: Andromeda takes place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy and offers “exciting new worlds to discover, great characters, and intense action.”"
"According to the developer blog, Mass Effect: Andromeda takes place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy and offers “exciting new worlds to discover, great characters, and intense action.”"
That could mean the events within the Andromeda galaxy. It looks like the voyage from the Milky Way to Andromeda would take a very long time even with ME technology. BioWare wouldn't make the Milky Way setup portion of the game post-trilogy, as that would step on the choices at the end of ME3.

This is direct Word of God here. Bioware devblog. http://blog.bioware.com/2015/06/15/introducing-mass-effect-andromeda/ The only REAL concrete data we have here is Word of God saying "Far from and long after ME3" and the video where Shepard goes "You are our only hope, this is Shepard signing off" or something like that. The only sensible deduction is that during ME3 ish when everyone was shitting their pants about the reapers, they sent out a cryoship to Andromeda (which is why the lady goes "We made it" in this video) It's just so far after ME3 AND it's so far FROM the milky way that the retarded Casey-Hudson choice you made at the end of 3 doesn't matter.

That's giving me the impression that it's pre-ME3.
Casey Hudson left, so he can't ruin it this time.
Or, he can't make it as awesome as he made the original games before.
The trailer looks amazing, but I really don't want to get hyped yet, they can still fuck this up in so many different ways

Which just makes me wonder why exactly they were building a cryoship before the galaxy was fully aware of and preparing for the reapers. The events of ME:A however are countless years after ME.
don't care if it looks good, is the story good.
Or, he can't make it as awesome as he made the original games before.
The original games were awesome because the writers went through peer-review after writing their stories. Their ideas were put through the grinder and retarded ideas were thrown out. Then, for the ending of ME3, which I consider to be one of the worst endings in storytelling history in any format, was written exclusively by Casey Hudson and I think Mac Walters, without any input from the rest of the writing team. Considering Casey's vision for a good resolution to ME3 was the ending of ME3, with the starchild and shit, I'm almost completely sure his input in the rest of the trilogy was thoroughly processed by the rest of the writing team.

So they left before the ending and don't actually know what happened back home.
Oh boy, I can't wait for those Mako sections. They were the best part of the first one.

He had a vision and without him the first 2 games wouldn't be the same.
Just noticed something in this shot: [t]http://puu.sh/pqt5p/61cdab56f3.jpg[/t] There's a second ark ship in the distance, does this mean there were different arks that were sent to different galaxies? EDIT: wait, shit, there are even more arks right behind the Andromeda ark
/broken merge You can't just say "Casey Hudson is thoroughly retarded, he may have been in charge for all the good the series had to offer but everything bad in the series is his responsibility". That's just ridiculous.
So is there a good reason that we're seeing an Asari in a totally different galaxy? I recall seeing a Krogan in some old image but I chalked it up to being a test render. How are we supposed to be surprised and feel the sense of wonder ME1 gave off if we're seeing the same old faces?
looks so so so so good with frostbite, super hyped about that. ea pleaaaase don't fuck this game up, I'm a huge mass effect nerd so I really desperately hope this game turns out to be good, cause shit does it look good

If there is something special in Andromeda, you don't want any particular race getting an advantage of some kind
Once again, the possibilities for Mass Effect are limitless. I'm excited. I suspect there'll be some in-game politics that detail the rise of pirates and whatnot.
Please have good writing.
