There is no escape.
That ambient music is just too much.
This is cool and all but does the algorithm make the same game every time? Like it's always a maze where you collect one thing and avoid the other, populated by whatever models the algorithm determines? Cuz that's not so interesting.

I have no the Ship and I must the Tomb. [editline]5th January 2014[/editline] [img_thumb]http://www.ledr.com/colours/red.jpg[/img_thumb]
There is definitely something unnerving about this that is difficult to put your finger on. It really does create the feeling as if it was designed by pure logic. "The walls are red because they must be red, the floor is blue because it must be blue, the world must be populated by models that are related to the founder" This is probably barely even touching the edge of the iceberg, and that sooner or later some algorithm will put together a game that is the complete stuff of nightmares, without being remotely consciously aware of it, or would it be?
Also known as, EA's future dev team.
I think it's just unnerving because the algorithm's sole intent was to build something that it deems as scary. [editline]5th January 2014[/editline] Maybe it just feels so unnerving because it's being built by something that is not conscious. [editline]5th January 2014[/editline] The concept actually makes me really uncomfortable.
Ha, I recognize that character it's using as the "enemy". It's Tihocan, one of the three rulers of Atlantis from Tomb Raider: Anniversary. I guess that ties into the "Founder" and "One" idea that the algorithm interpreted. The Triumvirate of Atlantis are the founders of the first civilization. That's also why the word "Tomb" shows up, since the character is from a Tomb Raider game.
are u the real ryu-gi
Now we just need to figure out where the giant elf in biker clothes and the boats came from.
the boats are from the ship afaik
Sure it did.
I love how the kotaku guy with the nasal voice is hyping this garbage up and everyone here is eating it up without digging up any information about the supposed AI
Apparently this game was created based off of a news article based on a gang sexually exploiting girls.

Did you watch the video?

Looks like a hoax to me
This is as 'creepy' as generating a world in Minecraft.
Looks like a hoax to me
It could be, but there's plenty of 'learning' computers nowdays - take Watson for example I'm more curious how the algorithm was involved with the actual programming though.
It's not a hoax retards if you would look at the site you would realise this isn't a new thing its been around and reported on for a while and its for a guys PHD so it's got documentations and he's done talks....
I'm talking about the grey floating things in the video, not the statues. Did you watch the video?
i mean it's pretty clear i was just testing you i obviously knew that

By "hoax" people in this thread mean that he just programmed a bunch of scenarios and the game just choose scenario A [collect and avoid] on this random map with textures B and C with models D. And not actually designed a game by itself.
