I can tell you I am not the biggest gay rights supporter but I am joining the military soon and I can say if you are willing to fight for your country you deserve the same respect as any other man in the armed forces.

Students are allowed to pray in class at any moment. Just as the government will not (formally) uphold a religion, it also will not attack one. Teachers are the ones that can't pray.
