interesting choice of music. phenomenal footage, nonetheless.
I remember that time a few weeks ago our FP group played Arma 3. That was nice. [sp]WE WANT THE SERVER BACK[/sp]
Pretty much stopped playing Arma in any organized manner, i just can't go back to Arma 2. Also to much Celldweller, but still good footage
Looks so fun, goddamn.
"HEY THERE! You get in the helo, and I drag this guy, and we'll figure this out!" -guy hes talking to gets shot twice- "OH"
Some of these really require you to watch the full missions to understand, ex Dslyecxi marching everyone off a steep hill to their deaths and the Dark Business run when he stole a Ural full of independent fighters as a hostage.

Does anyone know which video the part with the tractors is from?
I'll be perpetually kicking myself because I had the chance to join ST and turned it down, pretty much just before they exploded in popularity. No game of A2 I've had has so far come close to what these lot get up to.

Large-scale coordinated wargames are the coolest shit, I just wish the barrier to entry wasn't so high. Although I guess they have to keep it that way to weed out the idiots.
What's the video where Dslyecxi is telling people to jump out the C-130?
I forget the name of the mod (i44 I think) but could someone please point me in the direction of the videos those first two World War II clips came from?

"It never gets old to consider that every single person you see here is a real human being." That is the hook for Arma/ShackTac for me. The sheer scale of that game is incredible. I hope they're still going strong when I can get around to assembling a rig that can run Arma half-decently, because I want to experience this. [editline]16th December 2013[/editline] Also that video does wonders at showcasing how good A3 looks compared to A2.
My favorite part of any video he's done is at the end of combat tourism, when they all pile into a chopper, and then pilot races off about 5 feet off the ground through the middle off a city with dslyecxi and his crew pissing themselves in the back.

meh i played with them some years back either in arma 1 or 2 and while they were fun the whole idea of a close community with applications just feels so pretentious don't remember if they had applications back then or not but i remember it being a bit more open i'd say just play with united operations, all they ask is that you get on their TS and register on their site
I heard BromA was pretty good, is that still true?
They have consistent games. They're nothing like shacktac and they're pretty much avoiding it for whatever reason. Missions aren't super serious at all. If there ever is a hostage negotiation mission they will just shoot the hostages and lie about still having them.

They do require applications just to be a part of their community and the only way you can guarantee you'll be selected is that you tell them you promise to play with them on every event because they will kick you out if you don't play.

People have lives, you know?
I remember seeing some the guys from ShackTac on CIA's Project Reality sever, never responded to me saying hi. Funnier thing being that I think they were camping the insurgent's main base because they were around the Mosque, like A LOT. Not to mention I think it was Dsylexic who had around like 30-40 kills with the marksmen kit and only 2 deaths.
What's the map at 10:38?
i'd say just play with united operations, all they ask is that you get on their TS and register on their site
UO is where I've been playing A2 for the past year or so, ever since TacticalGamer went tits up. While they do sometimes get close to the scale of some of ST's missions, the utter incompetence of some of the players, even regulars there pisses me off. There are a lot of good players among them but for the very reason you mentioned, there are twice as many shitheads. A lot of the missions are extremely fucking boring too. I've said this before in another thread I think, but once, we had around 40 guys and played a mission that took 1 hour to do, with a grand total of ~7 (SEVEN) enemies and a couple of booby-trapped compounds. Equally, I've played some great missions there, but whenever I play I'm always anxious that some dickhead's just gonna fuck it up in a big way and I've seen it happen a lot.
I played with two ShackTac guys in Red Orchestra 2 a few months ago. I could remember their voices from Dslyecxi's videos.
i was in a game with shacktac members before, they're snobs.
i was in a game with shacktac members before, they're snobs.
Do tell.
