A college student notices there is a person who looks remarkably like him: a doppelganger. From then on strange events begin to occur as the situation becomes dangerous. This film was completed in 72 hours, including all aspects of film making: coming up with an idea, writing, getting actors, filming, music, editing, etc. We were given two objects (peace tea and a certain magazine) that we had to include and one location (the gum tree) that we had to include.
Nice music choice. It really played the tension when they made contact.
Thanks. The music was done by one of my friends. He's crazy good at music. All the music in this film is actually improvisation. I simply told him the type of mood I was trying to accomplish and he delivered.
Nice music choice. It really played the tension when they made contact.
Love it! The shot on the stairs was very well done. The music was also excellent. Sort of a post-modern-neo-minimalist-new-age feel with hints of serial romanticism. (I have no idea what I'm talking about). Toodles.
Really liked the Track in-zoom out shot in the library. One of my favorite camera movements/shots. Your use of Dutch Angle was very nice as well (when he was sitting at the bench). The stairwell shot was very well done and well framed, and probably one of my favorite scenes overall. It added a lot of suspense and tension. Of course, lighting really could have been better, and some of the framing was a bit strange, mostly because it was so dark and it was hard to tell where the action was. Lighting and set choice is excusable when you're doing these Film Challenges though. Just remember that lighting is probably THE biggest thing when it comes to making films. Without light, the audience won't be able to decipher what they're looking at. The shaky cam was pretty excessive. Then again, it's a time crunch challenge, and you sometimes have to work with what you have. Just remember that sometimes the shaky cam stuff works in favor of the scene, and sometimes it doesn't. The music was very well done too. I'm especially impressed that it's also made for the production specifically. Usually people just use stock sounds or royalty free music. Are you going to school for film? Or was this just a side project you decided to do with some friends? Either way it was entertaining and the story was very good, just wish I could see more of what was going on sometimes! What camera was this shot with? What editing software did you use? I myself am studying film making on my own time and I'm constantly trying to learn more. I'm gonna subscribe to you. I would love to watch your shooting and directing skills evolve over time.
I honestly felt a bit creeped out in the library scene, great job there! It starts out a bit dull, yeah, but it really kicks off at the library part! Some parts could have been brighter too! The stairs scene was perfect, though! If I may ask who won first place? Kind of curious actually, if there's a link I'd be interested to watch it !
I wonder if there are any other aspiring film makers here on FP. Would be cool to keep in touch if so. I'm very interested in the equipment used in this whole shoot.
I make videos on Youtube but they are not serious at all. I liked the video man was well made, fair play

Thanks a lot for your subscription and great comment! To answer your questions: I am going to school for film. I shot it with a Panasonic Lumix DSLR. I edited with Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects (for color correction: there was a nasty yellow tint in the library and parking garage. I've looked for it on youtube because it was very well done, but I can't find it, unfortunately.
I honestly felt a bit creeped out in the library scene, great job there!
