From what I'm getting from this we're about to see yet another console that's boasting is capable of 4k, but not actually capable of actual 4k.
I wish these companies would chill out with trying to hit ever loftier resolution goals and just make a game console that runs games smoothly

Yeah it'd be great to just be able to run Halo 5 1080p60 without dynamic resolution and horrible AA solutions. Game looks like shit past 10 feet infront of you

I think the biggest annoyance is how animations past a certain distance look like shit. Seriously, if you haven't noticed, take a look at some of them sometime when playing Warzone. They're choppy and low FPS. I only have a 720p TV so I don't really notice what you're talking about, but the low FPS animations from far away are super noticeable.

Oh yea man it is awful. Looks like a 3 frame sprite lol.
iirc they used the same technique that From uses in the Soulsborne games. At a certain distance everything is animated at half the targeted framerate. In Halo 5's case I think everything 10 meters (might be wrong on the distance) in front of you is animated at 30fps.

Are animations really THAT intensive?
Are animations really THAT intensive?
No.
It's just that the engine they used was bad/unoptimzed, and the Xbone isn't all that powerful to begin with.
I'd rather the focus be on higher quality rendering at standard HD. Thus everyone benefits even if you can't afford a 4k screen.
Bring back forward rendering tbh do it with clusters. I am also really sick of blurry, ugly AA.

It's somewhat a shame that Sony don't seem to be super huge fans of the supersampling method developers have been using on the PS4 Pro. For 1080p screen users it could provide a nice little bump in visual fidelity, seeing as the extra GPU power is just sitting around doing jack shit all otherwise when running in "lite" modes.
i thought 6 teraflops was enough microsoft
even if teraflops were a good indication of performance, gtx 1080 is 8-9 and still can't really do 4k at 60fps
Ps3 and 360 launched with 1080 support but to this day consoles can't do 1080p60 lmao
Expect another few generations before actual 4k.
a few more? i'd say the generation after scorpio
How...How can you claim it's the most powerful Console on the Market, and might not be able to run 4k stably?

Well to be fair, there are PS3, 360, Wii U, PS4, XBone games that can do 1080p 60fps, but it's more common on Nintendo surprisingly which has inferior hardware.
it technically is the most powerful console on the market though, beating the PS4 Pro

If the information in the video is true, while it may be the most powerful, it's being held back by the Xbone now, legit, apparently not even an option to make Scorpio Exclusives.

Yes, but in more simple and "inferior" games saved by good art direction. You don't have Assassin's Creed Unity, Fallout 4, Rainbow Six Siege, Doom 4, etc. magically running 1080p 60 FPS on Wii U while Xbox and PS4 struggle. Breath of the Wild, one of their biggest and technically most advanced games will be 720p 30 FPS on Wii U while still looking like a 5 year old title.
