I really wonder why Blizzard let this movie out as it is, obviously they can't be so dumb not to have realized what an abomination they had created.. EDIT: For me personally the whole movie was just for the most part franchise, without any real subject. And the cinematic experience felt really clunky. I have been an avid Warcraft fan since the dawn of the franchise. Just my two cents
To be completely fair I don't think this should be blamed on Duncan at all. His previous films were great and Moon is one of the best sci-fi movies in recent times. I'd chalk it up to him being out of his element with such a high profile movie and a lot of studio intervention which is commonplace with blockbuster attempts like this.
The movie wasn't even that bad. Solid 7/10, I would actually be down to see a sequel and hopefully get to the point to do the Lich King storyline
Film fell apart when they didn't bother to follow the original story, which would have actually worked well (books took place from the perspective of Khadgar if I recall).
FYI guys this video is making fun of the journalist, not the director. If you see the original interview the journalist was aggressive and an overall asshole and ends up walking out. Critical just did his own recreation of the interview. Just google Duncan Jones Interview and there will be some websites with the story.

Dealing with film crit is one thing but having a journo conduct themselves like that is ridiculous I wonder how these people get popular enough to even get the chance at interviews like this.
movie journalists are as bad as game journalists
Just watched the real interview, and the journalist walking out is super bizarre.
The movie was pretty damn good in my opinion, it did its job at creating a 'Warcraft' movie. Yeah, sure, it's not the best movie in the world, but it was good. This is making fun of the interviewer, not Duncan. If you guys can't work that out then I really don't know what to say.

It seems the movie really is recieved rather positively by fans and the people in general opposed to the critics.
The movie was okay.

I liked it. I think it's just that people aren't Warcraft lore fans so they don't know the characters, and that's where a lot of the background information for the characters comes from. You know these characters better if you read the lore, and that's why they barely attempt to explain any of the characters. Can't wait for the sequel.

This movie made more money than you guys realize. It's a fucking giant hit in China, which could mean that western movies start catering for that market more than they have been in the last few years. Just an interesting development that this film shows.
The movie bombed pretty critically, like universally so. Also the Chinese thing is debatable. China has tariffs so usually the box office there means less. But idk how that works out this time since the production company is Chinese.
Off the topic of Warcraft, it's amazing how little Duncan looks like his father.

the movie is sad because it was such a hot mess, so hard for me to follow. The cgi at certain moments were great though.
[sp] Does anyone seriously know what was up with that fucking box?[/sp] I quite enjoyed it for what it was. I was a little miffed at points where the story wasn't truly followed, but some of the fights and the behavior of the characters felt, for the most part, correct.
[sp] Does anyone seriously know what was up with that fucking box?[/sp]
First I thought it was supposed to be [sp]a Naaru judging from what they called it... Al'Adai? I couldn't understand what Antonidas was saying there. Then there's who I'm assuming is Aegwynn inside it? Doesn't make much sense.[/sp]
