The girl in these videos keeps popping up. Is this NK trying to branch out?
In this video we can see Pyongang citizens visiting an annual fair to take pictures of food.
While the rest of them starve
i get a really weird vibe from this video, i can't explain it. does anyone else? it's like something about it feels off
That would be North Korea.

by elite you mean the military?
The way most of them dress is like 90's Asian fashion.
this whole thing feels like... grossly staged. is anyone else unsettled by the fact you dont get a good look at the crowd without the girl like immediately taking up 1/2 of the screen and guiding the cameraman elsewhere?

She's his minder, it's her job to make sure he's not taking video of shit he shouldn't be taking video of. I was actually kind of surprised when she let him go off by himself because she wanted to look at the women's clothes.
i get a really weird vibe from this video, i can't explain it. does anyone else? it's like something about it feels off
Besides the fact they are two korean people in north korea talking engrish?
Why would they expose food at a tech convention? (Oh right, trade fair, so anything pretty much, just seemed so weird how much food was exposed though, you can't even taste it either way, is this how trade fairs work? I always presumed trade fairs were dedicated to a single category, to me this looks more like a marketplace if anything.)
by elite you mean the military?
yeah, and govt officials most of them already have a ton of foreign stuff through the black market anyway
Besides the fact they are two korean people in north korea talking engrish?
The guy recording the video is Singaporean by the way. It kinda makes all the videos even weirder.

I was actually kind of surprised when she let him go off by himself because she wanted to look at the women's clothes.
I don't know exactly the situation but these two star in videos very often. The woman is clearly his minder but she's a little more than just a minder, I guess they figured she was very good at being a PR personality (and they were correct) so they give her a higher degree of freedom to be in these videos. The guy is always with her and he's allegedly (I assume he really is, I don't know any different) from Singapore and visits NK frequently to try the food, visit attractions and she's always his minder. He is very good for them because he doesn't want to rock the boat or genuinely likes NK so the two of them make a great pair for Youtube videos for NK to dispel the crazy stuff they usually do by putting these videos on the net and saying "See? The West lied to you. Look at all the great stuff we have, look at how much this guy enjoys it." etc. [editline]22nd May 2016[/editline] His channel is full of NK videos and considering how often he goes and how positive he is about NK and the fact that his Youtube channel looks like it's practically sponsored by the NK Government it's easy to speculate that he's connected to the regime more than your typical tourist. But that being said, maybe he is just a tourist and he knows better than to talk shit about NK when he is given special treatment. It's like getting special behind the scenes access to Disney World than you turned around and talked shit about Disney World on your Youtube Channel, I doubt they'd invite you back. Who knows. Or NK is genuinely a really nice place and the West lied to us. I dunno, that could be it too. I think this is one of the guys that sells tourist trips to North Korea, actually, but I'm not 100% sure, and I'm too lazy to check.
According to the Pizza video he has been there ten times. Pyongyang is really nice and I'd like to visit NK because I think it's interesting but you know, doesn't really negate the other stuff. Iran is like this too, they have a very first-world-like industrialized nation but their politics and some of their customs just suck. It's like in a lot of places but they don't usually threaten to build or use nukes and all I guess. Here he talks about himself and what he does.
