The tagline for this movie should have been "don't be a fucking idiot"
[sp]Ubermorph[/sp] It still looks like a Prometheus retread, but the added Alien elements intrigue me.
Alien(s) meets... Blair Witch, kinda sorta? At least environmentally.
Cautiously hyped. I love Danny McBride a whole bunch. I expected him to be a much more minor role than he appears to be.
Looks like the Bug is a lot more vicious this time.
Looks like the Bug is a lot more vicious this time.
Just the way it should be
wouldn't an alien use it's acid spit then headbutt?
Will probably be a cool sci-fi movie but I really think they've done a disservice to the original Alien(s) by showing so much of the new alien species in this trailer, it just kinda looked lame. I wasn't even going to watch the trailer because I didn't want to get spoiled, but they just straight up show it in the video picture.

You can't avoid spoilers just by 'not watching the trailers'. I didn't watch any trailers for Captain America 3 but still found out all the cameos and even what Spider-Man would look like because of ad banners, news pics in side columns, and YouTube thumbnails.
I love how this film is set in 2104 but they're still using generic tacticool AR-15s and bullpups. But hey, it's not like the original Aliens had creative prop and weapon designs for it's universe or anything. Prometheus RE-DO
wouldn't an alien use it's acid spit then headbutt?
Yeah, but hey, at least it's not something too seriously contradictory to the lore of Aliens
expecting a disappointment
Trailer checks off most Alien/Sci-Fi Horror tropes in the book. Nothing I've seen makes me think this isn't the same story that's been told for almost 40 years, or worse, Prometheus 1.5, and I would expect nothing more from late stage Ridley Scott.
I see the number of Alien films continues to grow while the number of good Alien films remains the same as ever.

Still takes place 20 years before we see the flame thrower in Alien, and like, 80 years before the M41A and friends.

The new one is [sp]the white thing we see attacking them at 1:43[/sp]. Some photos of it leaked a while back, it looks promising.
wouldn't an alien use it's acid spit then headbutt?
the only acid aliens have is their blood resurrection isn't canon
honestly sounds like they used kazoos in the background music also still waiting for: [t]http://i.imgur.com/N9FU2Ve.jpg[/t]
Well, if it's a success, maybe Neill Blomkamp will get to do that
honestly sounds like they used kazoos in the background music also still waiting for: [t]http://i.imgur.com/N9FU2Ve.jpg[/t]
What is this Jurassic World?
The xeno jumping down the hallway looks really great, and is easily the best part of the trailer. Maybe it learned from vader? The xeno on top of the ship looks like some really terrible CGI, and I think they've made a trailer that reveals the worst parts it could've, both plot important and not-very-good-shots, so we've been spoiled with the worst. Don't know why these alien pilots are so bad with their ships. I think they're a bad sci-fi race from everything Scott's delivered. My theory is that he started the franchise well with the tone set but didn't consolidate the mythos. Then Aliens came out with a drastically different direction, and was popular, and then III and resurection came out, and then AVP and it's horrific (ly bad) sequel. Then there's a bunch of games and comics, And he feels the need to reclaim the franchise. So he scrambles to build as much world as possible in an aggressive attempt to cut off the other properties. And it's reckless and shit. Plus Fox aren't great, but Ridley's just trying too hard. Alien was a real simple story with a simple message and it worked, he's not good with adding too much.
Well, if it's a success, maybe Neill Blomkamp will get to do that
hope not, Blomkamp was a one hit wonder.
hope not, Blomkamp was a one hit wonder.
Agreed, but he also seems hella passionate about the Alien series, which is more than can be said for Ridley Scott. I'm excited for this movie, since it's fucking Alien, but I can't help but feel that this is just Scott going "fine, you mouthbreathers want your fucking xenomorphs? HERE" since people didn't like Prometheus.
yuck. that cgi alien looked terrible.
it seems really fucking stupid that for a colonizing ship, they have a gay couple. pretty obvious tokenism. [editline]1st March 2017[/editline]
yuck. that cgi alien looked terrible.
because it's cgi they can make its movement more alien, rather than just a dude in a suit. the scene in the hallway with the xenomorph jumping off the walls reminds me of the avp games.

Technological advancement is exponential. When it's meant to be the late 21st/early 22nd century, suspension of disbelief goes out the window when they're using an already 60-year old design, which wouldn't be too bad if it weren't one of, if not the most iconic firearm in history. At least in the Aug's case it's relatively obscure and can be easily dressed up to look even more futuristic than it already does, but they didn't even try, just slapped on more rails and an ACOG.
