He's an actor. Not a particularly good one IMO, but an actor nonetheless.
Cartoon was good, movie was total disaster.

It wasn't that Fred thought it was the wrong thing to do, it's just that he wanted to have his old life back.
I love the show very much, and I love the movie just the same. It is very loyal to the source material, so unless you really don't like The Flintstones than you wont like the movie.
How can you not like the original show though...

But I remember him about to accept until he got a look from his wife.
I never really liked the cartoon, but the movie was nice copy. But the film did suck anyway. I see now how dumb the villain's plan was. Find the smartest guy and hope he won't question anything?
I'm guessing the idea was to find someone smart enough to aide them in their plot or something. Or maybe, knowing every single one of them would be some dumb schmuck it didn't matter, having the smartest one was just a front to not make them question the opportunity to be exploited.
