Underachieving With Rip & Keio - Our LP channel, where we suck at games maybe.

My buddy and I have been working on a youtube channel and I figured it's about time I've actually worked on getting some advertisement done. You may have seen me post a few videos every now and then. I'd actually like to properly introduce the channel.
Hi, I'm Ripper on the channel. Ages ago, my buddy (Keioseth) and I had this idea of creating an LP channel as a bit of a mucking around see what happens kind of thing. I, admittedly, didn't have a lot of time to work on it (due to work) until fairly recently. Now that I got my hands on some of the tools necessary I've been having a lot of fun creating media for our channel and I'd like to share it with you. We're just a couple of guys that like games, both tabletop and of the video variety. I can't guarantee we're super-great, or cool, or even correct in what we talk about, but we have fun with what we do and if watching a couple of dweebs play these games is up your alley, you might enjoy them to.

After a long hiatus we managed to get through SOMA.

We also started dicking around in Broforce. (We had a lot of issues with the recording and uploading of Broforce. These are now fixed in the new sessions.)
It's one thing to watch Let's Players suck at a game or two every so often, making a whole channel to just sucking. Watching someone like Game Grumps or Two Best friends play a shitty game or just completely suck at a game is fine, but it's mixed up with dialogue to keep the viewers entertained. Quite honestly the dialogue in any of the videos posted isn't really all that good, the boarderlands one is mainly wait for someone to go "hmmmm" or "Haha yeah real nice" or something extremely similar that doesn't play into the game, perspective into the game, or discussion to keep anyone interested.
Honestly this would probably be better/watchable if you did some editing to get to the funny parts or such the way vinesauce will condense a long stream into a XX minute or so video where things are happening.
Alright, I probably shouldn't even be bumping this but I just want to sort of friendly, and passive-aggressive at the same time.
It's great that you guys want to get into the YouTube scene, but it's so immensely saturated that what you're doing is not going to work. Your video release order, your thumbnails, your video lengths, it's what hundreds, probably thousands of people are already doing on YouTube. Innovate.
You guys have 27 subscribers with TONS of videos on your channel with most of them having zero to like, 5 views. Quantity isn't quality. Like I said, this is the same formula that thousands are doing and have done, and there is absolutely nothing that makes you guys stand out. I mean it's either a case of extreme lacking in the self-aware department, or you guys really just don't care and you enjoy what you're doing. If that's the case, disregard my entire post.
I'm honestly not trying to shit in your cheerios. I'm just pointing out what I see, and I wish you the best of luck.

I'm not terribly fond of the Borderlands one for that reason. If I recall correctly it was directly streamed to youtube as one of the 'proof of concept' things, to just see how their system functioned. I could be wrong, as it's been some time since then.
Also Underachieving isn't expressly about "oh lol we suck at games", it's just the title and our excuse for when we're not as good at a game as you'd expect.

A large part of our issue is not really having anywhere to advertise. I've only recently gotten my hand into things like Tumblr and Twitter, along with making connections through there. I do agree that our formula isn't much different from any other youtuber and I'd love to innovate, but right now I'm sort of left scratching my head trying to figure out how.
I'm not expert, I'm really not, but I'd say do it because you enjoy what you're doing, not because you want to blow up big and become the next Pewdiepie. People like Markiplier and Pewdiepie honestly ended up where they ended up because they were at the right place at the right time, and appealed to the lowest common denominator.

Maybe I watch let's players for a different reason but I can't really recall ever watching one because they were the best or great at a game. For me, at least, it's about the commentary the LP'ers bring mixed with a new perspective into the game and the reactions to funky things that happen.
Dunkey is a good example; he is really good at CS and LOL (when he played) but I am fairly confident that most people watched his LP's for the reactions and commentary in relation to things happening rather than judging his skill at said game.
I honestly wanted to point this out, when I talk about imitating.

It's always about the commentary, I agree.

My main motivation behind all this stems from ages ago when I'd stream games with my friends through Xfire. Whenever Lets Playing became a major thing I thought I could do this for more people. I've held off on advertising here because I wanted to show off something I thought was atleast half decent here.
Basically what I'm getting at is I'm not doing this to try and get youtube rich or anything like that, I just want to try and put something out there that might entertain people. I know there's been plenty of times where the Super Best Friends cheered me up when I needed it the most, and the thought of doing that for someone makes me happy.
