Fucking Genius. Can't believe nobody has come up with this earlier tbh.
Holy shit merlin you are going to get fucked hard :goodjob:
I don't understand, when somebody's video got taken down before how come they weren't able to see the claimant's name? I've had a video taken down and was able to see what organization they were.

It got copyright strikes for the videos sound, and was manually done by merlin It's just showing explict proof of how corrupt the system is.
His utter glee makes this video
This is fucking brilliant. Proves how fucked the system is.
Holy fuck, troll dun goofed. Try pussy your way out of this one, Merlin! Nice find!
What exactly does this mean? Is YT gonna fuck the Merlin account up hard for just blatantly filing a copyright claim manually on a video that infringes on no copyright?
What exactly does this mean? Is YT gonna fuck the Merlin account up hard for just blatantly filing a copyright claim manually on a video that infringes on no copyright?
That would require YouTube to care.
What exactly does this mean? But I may be wrong on that.
I think it means Merlin is basically bullshitting with their copyright trolling over the past year
It was already obvious, this is just proving it.
I should get in on this. When the class action lawsuit hits I'll some good $$$.
I can't help but feel really happy when some scumbags balls get exposed super hard.
I should get in on this. When the class action lawsuit hits I'll some good $$$.
Seriously, there's some good money to be made here by taking these fuckers down a few pegs into bankruptcy.
I was reading the comments on the video earlier, and someone said something along the lines of "I'm going to set up two YouTube accounts; one to post videos, and another to file content claims on the one I use to post videos." And now I'm actually curious; is that something that people could do? Set up a secondary account used to file content claims on all of their own videos? If so, would that ensure that they still get a share of the revenue if another false, third-party network a filed claims on the videos?
Aren't they just using YouTube's report system and not the actual DMCA takedown forms though? Isn't it basically akin to someone falsely reporting a post on Facepunch and the other poster being punished automatically?
This guy has hands down the best laugh. I just want a YouTube channel of him laughing for roughly 1-2 minutes each week, it'd be perfect.

Most people here were still eating their boogers when saying cleaver would cost you smartness

On that stupid merlin companies website:
Merlin is not an aggregator. We operate on a non-exclusive basis, and complement and enhance our members’existing digital business. Our remit is to enhance the value of our members rights in deals that cannot be easily negotiated locally or individually, or are not covered adequately by existing arrangements. By acting non-exclusively, we offer independent labels and distributors the flexibility to make decisions that bring the greatest value to their business. Merlin negotiates deals on behalf of its members with digital services. Members can choose to participate in our deals on a case-by-case basis. Merlin members are responsible for delivering their own content and managing their own marketing on the services. Merlin manages all accounting, payments and administrative aspects of the deals."
Basically they profit of the success of other people .... complete leach company, they don't even help market their clients. They seem very small, so a class action law suite may be enough to scare them off, but it would take all the people effected.

False YT copyright claims are not a crime because they're not legally takedown notices.
YT is in the fastlane of going down the shitter for the last couple of months (years?) but they have yet to fix anything. I can't really remember when Youtube actually reverted a change because users actually didn't like it.
