This was actually a great serious moment for the Daily show, gotta love Jon Stewart.
It's not very funny when he does stuff like this, but I'm glad he does it.

He's basically that normal guy who makes the wiseass comments about politics and is usually right about it.

My hope is that Stewart invites Gifford onto his show as soon as possible, before anyone else can. To me, that would show great respect to her as well as how truly motivated Stewart is trying to be a (mostly) "middle-of-the-road" guy in the news media.
I honestly wish his show ran for an hour, I feel he could cover so much more and still not lose the show's charm.
