I don't think they should have pushed for getting the religion question taken off, the results may be distorted but they're still worth something, as well as the bad PR it would bring. The survey is a good idea, if only to try and inform people. We had a similar movement among young people in Australia to point out that we're hardly christian in any respect for our 2011 census and it's worth doing. I can see opponents picking on the sample size of about 2,000 though as it doesn't sound very impressive. Even if they've tried to eliminate bias, such things can be used to inflame the assumed bias opponents have.
Huh, me and Richard Dawkins seem to be like-minded. Thinking how everyone just tries to be a good person, be it by atheist, Islamic, Christian or by Buddhist means. So religiousness=trying to be a good person, and religious=a good person.
