He usually doesn't add blood effects other than the chalk mist for blood. Guess he decided it was time for blood splatter and impact shots.

Check out the behind the scenes video.
The manager submitted his location as part of the tour Freddie was doing and they didn't go to it originally since it was in L.A. ( which is where they live, and planned to go out of state ) so instead they came back later to shoot a video at his location.
