$1000 ain't going to do much. A good meal, clean clothes, maybe a suit. That's all he can really do now, if he is really homeless.
Which I hope he does. I also hope he doesn't waste it on booze, drugs, or any of that shit. Something to get his life lifted off the ground or something.
Seriously, I thought it was a joke at first knowing this guy. I was like man that's fucked up, but damn that ended up as a real great deed.

To help him look decently when applying, or handing in a resume to places for a job?
Do you go into a place you want to work at wearing raggedy jean, bomber jacket with dirt and scuffs on it?
Right.

Completely, and one day he will probably do that but if I was homeless and I got a thousand dollars I would think "get the cheapest living space possible, get a basic job and start again" not "Ok Now I must go to that interview at Goldman Sachs"

the US differs in that even at basic jobs you generally need to look the part.

Over the years I must have spent hours looking at your avatar trying to understand what I'm seeing and just now I finally reached enlightenment (dolphins was boobs) and a few seconds later I regretted it.

You are a bit late though: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1372202
you know I really love the way the homeless guy just kind of... freeezes the hell up and tries to just kind of process what just happened

This guy isn't going to be looking for a career, he'll be looking for a job.
If you walk into an interview at a grocery store wearing a suit you're going to look like a goober. All you need is some slacks and a polo shirt.
It's a good idea to wear something similar to what the employees of the place you're applying to are wearing.
Can't remember the last time a youtube video made me tear up

According to Buzzfeed Rahat also put the homeless man in a hotel for two weeks, gave him a bike and got him clothes and a hot meal

Judging from the way a grown ass fucking man is breaking down in tears over a $1000. I'd say he was probably homeless.

lol one grand is literally enough to stop being homeless
What a sweet, sweet man. Even after spending who knows how many days in the street and having nothing but clothes to his name, he still wanted to share the 1,000 dollars.
Most of us can only aspire to be that selfless.
the first fucking thing he does: try to share it
my eyes
When he said he was giving the guy a fake winning ticket I thought for sure he was going to be a dick and that I was going to hate this man forever. I am happy to be wrong. That $1000 will go a long way to helping this man get back on track. And who knows, maybe this video will get around to the right people and he'll get more help. Maybe free clothes, a decent home, maybe even someone hook him up with a job somewhere. I think he's looking at a bright future.
