Firstly I realize there isn't a video in the thread, and if a mod wants to lock this then I understand for that reason.
I'm wondering, for future reference and for other people wanting to post their own content, what is the general view on posting content for a constructive and critical response? I'm wondering because the rules don't cover this and the dislike (from what I can see) of people posting their own content seems to be something that the community has made a kind of pseudo rule, which is fine, obviously. When I say "constructive and critical response" I really do mean that, I don't mean a covert way of advertising a users own content (this is something that's never bothered me but whatever).
From time to time there's usually a few threads similar to the ones I'm talking about in Creationism Corner, but I know from experience that you don't get much of a response in there, at least, you get a lot more for posting some traditional or digital art in any case.
Basically Id just like to clear up, where if anywhere people thing user made video content should go?
As long as you don't register exclusively to post your own content, contribute elsewhere frequently, and post your own content only once or twice rather than spamming the forums, I think you should be ok.

If your content has legitimate work put into it it's usually okay.
If you joined purely for self-advertising? Fuck off.
If you've been here a while? It's fine. However, it usually sums up to user opinions. If your videos are consistently awful, it's frowned upon to continue to post them(See the member RegisteredUser), and can in some rare cases get you banned.
It also helps to be willing to take user criticism very easily.
That's all really helpful, thanks, hope this can help clear things up for others as well.
