I'M SORRY I CAN'T CHANGE THE TITLE
this whole thing seems exclusively enjoyable for portland hipsters.
because you have to be the exact group of people portrayed in games to have fun in them hence why ww2 games were exclusively enjoyed by 90 year old veterans, the same is true here, where you would have to be a portland-based hipster with time traveling abilities to have any fun at all ...wait
If I could change the title I'd make it something less inflammatory. Sorry.
just don't do it again ya lil rapscallion
"When Gone Home meets The Walking Dead with time travel"
this review hurts me on the inside and wtf squeenix is publishing this?
Looks interesting.
just don't do it again ya lil rapscallion
Saw this posted and shared it along but now I've tainted discussion I'm an awful person. About the game itself I'm confused what it is if anything. Twin Peaks / Gone Home / Stephen King / Heavy Rain / Walking Dead are all offered as what it's like but to me that sounds like too many things
Things go a bit wibbly wobbly timey wimey in this trailer for Life is Strange.
oh my god the video description, lol fuck these people.
So from what I understand, this is hipster time traveling Groundhog Day?
"A playable indie movie" and "Gone Home mixed with The Walking Dead" are more of an insult towards a game than a positive recommendation. Also even the most casual person who kind of plays games knows that Kotaku is a joke. Why would you make them the first quote on your trailer?

I wish the trailer showed off more of the game rather than what all those critics thought of it. Let me see more of the game so I can think about it myself, dammit!
The presentation and style seem a bit obnoxious and the whole "troubled outcast teenager story with an indie soundtrack" has been overdone to death, but it seems like it does what it's aiming for pretty well Then again this is only a 2 min trailer but that's my first impression
Though I find the quotes they used annoying, I look forward to this game.
Sweet, a high school simulator with time travel!
looks dumb as fuck
The only thing pretentious and hipstery are comments like these
This looks slightly like the most pretentious thing I've ever seen.
like what the fuck are you even talking about? Are you that intimidated by multicolored hair and/or indie music? like how can you even draw hate from what little was shown it looks and sounds like a neat thing- something along the lines of a not-garbage version of Beyond Two Souls [editline]17th December 2014[/editline] two teenagers, one has blue hair, one doesn't. One gets shot, the other experiences Alan Wake level weirdness as a result ... HIPSTER GARBAGE, WORST THING SINCE GONE HOME, WTF R U DOIN EQUINIX?
calm down kid. What exactly do you think looks good about this game?
Looks interesting. Steam wishlisted.
nothing particular, but nothing about it looks bad at all. I like story games, and I like story games with weirdy time travel and phsyco Allan Wakey nonsense to it. what exactly do you think looks dumb as fuck about this game?

I'm not mad at this game. There's no rage here. I think it looks silly and I think describing at as Gone Home meets Twin Peaks meets Stepehen King meets Walking Dead meets Heavy Rain is trying to do way too many things at once. Also how do you know it's a not garbage beyond two souls? There's nothing to gauge from this trailer. [editline]18th December 2014[/editline] That's what throws me off, the only thing this trailer tells me is that journalists fucking love it but give me no reason as to why I should love it only by listing a lot of things that are popular.
comparing the game to Gone Home is basically the worst thing they could possibly do if they were hoping to see a lot of Steam version sales
exactly what I'm saying, if there's nothing to gauge from this teaser than how can the same argument be made that it looks like trash? I don't think the examples describing it is at all too many. Of anything the inclusion of Walking Dead makes it sound like it's referencing the TT game series so it will have choice/consequences in the story. I assume that because I don't see any zombies around. Yeah it could go the way of Two Souls but I think the only way that can happen is if that shmuck of a writer touches it.
comparing the game to Gone Home is basically the worst thing they could possibly do if they were hoping to see a lot of Steam version sales
Given the market they're aiming for from this trailer it makes sense though.

Episodic games can be a hit or a miss and this looks so ugh. But it's kinda refreshing seeing Square Enix do something new that's not remastered or rebooting older games; however Square Enix has a really weird taste for storytelling so this might be either weird as fuck with little to no explanation and really bad "deep" meanings that are really corny... or it might be good. Who knows. I wish they've shown more instead of stupid reviews by people. Fuck that noise RIGHT off the bat. This is why I don't trust trailers anymore. They either show real life things in their trailers, over-the-top cinematic scenes that don't even appear in the games, or... this, just reviews and snippets of the characters looking disheartened constantly.
^these are more fair and reasonable negative points, I agree.
lets all learn to love in this thread <3 I'm willing to be surpised by this. It's the Gone Home comparison that hurts it for me since I was not a fan of that at all
-snip-
Looks potentially interesting (since I'm a sucker for time travel) but I cannot stand trailers like this that don't show any gameplay. And they only made it worse by including a bunch of quotes that literally call it a movie.
