looks like it's time to reinstall this shit again
Liking their rendition of "Stuck in the middle with you"
This is a pleasant surprise.
The fuck was up with that lame music? Couldn't they license the actual song?
This was really fun to work on, easily the most fun trailer. It feels weird to have "Reservoir Dogs" and "Nightmare on Elm Street" on your resumé. :vs:
Man, why does Wolf still get used in promotional material? All it does is remind me that Ulf Andersson won't come back to record new lines for him.

was this done on sfm?

Do you know wheter Simon composed the song for this?
was this done on sfm?
Nope. We’ve been using Redshift for trailers and artwork since last year. For reference, it's the same engine Blizzard uses!

He did!

Maybe they'll find another Swedish guy to voice him? I mean, they live in an entire country full of them.

Well, we tried. :vs:
I feel like the soldier's eyes never ever moving from looking dead-ahead somewhat killed the feel the trailer had.

The PD2 engine can't support moving eyes or mouths. Well it's probably possible but the first game didn't have them either, and I guess they didn't make special models for trailers.

What's the Elm Street stuff you worked on?
What's the Elm Street stuff you worked on?
Most likely the trailer for Dead by Daylight's Nightmare on Elm Street crossover.

that and iirc he does animations for the game itself so he may have animated Freddy.

They move, it's just hard to see under the goggles :v: It's mostly noticeable around 0:46

The trailer for the chapter (as well as the teaser).

Ninja'd with my own handiwork! Anyway, I don't do animations for the game. Haven't done in-game animations for a long time now. Kinda miss it though.
Will you be able to refuse to tip your waitress in it?
Sad thing about this is that it's probably going to be the closest thing Reservoir Dogs ever gets to an actually good video game
Will you be able to refuse to tip your waitress in it?
We're talking about a gang of criminals that can barely afford a seven dollar parking ticket and then have to steal it back in another heist.

The Playstation 2 game wasn't that bad.
listen Coyoteze
i dont know what cloakers did to you but this is like, the 3rd time now they've been tortured in your trailers
#notallcloakers ok man :(
[sp]amazing trailer work as always though[/sp]
Your animation work has significantly improved. I remember seeing your work when you just started at Overkill.
Fucking love the trailer, shame about the music though
Fucking love the trailer, shame about the music though
The reason they didn't use it I assumed (and later confirmed by Coyote) is the simple fact, Music licenses cost money.

It's not just me anymore, like in the old days :') We're a small team now. Thank you, though!

There were other factors. Licensing itself wasn't a main issue. That's all legal stuff, though, so not something I'm very well versed in. I'm more about the creative part. :vs:
I was about to ask how much of the trailer is motion-captured, but then I saw in the comments that you guys used Hoxton's face-actor to mocap the dance.
Was gonna say that's really damn good for keyframing. Especially since I've tried my hand at keyframing dancing before, so I know exactly how hard it can be to make it look natural.
Glad to see you're doing well at Overkill, mate!
I won't lie when I say that it's pretty freaking cool to see you having the opportunity to animate for a big(ish) game studio. Pretty darn neat stuff.
I like it, but I don't the aliasing that's present.

Also when he closed the door it made a sound like it closed but it stopped before it did.
I don't wanna shit on this too much, I'm sure it'll be a good heist mission, but when the hell else am I gonna talk about this,
one thing I always thought was kind of irritating is that every adaptation of Reservoir Dogs (that I'm aware of) tends to focus on the heist itself when part of what makes Reservoir Dogs great in the first place is that you don't see the heist. It isn't about heisting so much as it is about the aftermath of a heist gone wrong. Reservoir Dogs as a property would honestly be best suited to the adventure game genre as opposed to a shooter.

I like it when games give you new perspective on the property tbh, the movie is great with that atmosphere cause that's what it's all about, but in a game that'd be pretty boring (or at least niche, if it were an adventure game). This way not only do you get some good gameplay, you also get to live out a different part of the situation that we don't get a very clear look into (not to insinuate this is canon, but the thoughts still there).

I do like looking at things from a new perspective, for instance, Fallout 4 made me hunger for a Fallout city building game, which could have all sorts of themed city management stuff that you wouldn't get in other city building games but could also give an excuse to return to the isometric Fallout style for a spinoff.
But wanting to look at Reservoir Dogs for the heist itself is sort of silly considering how played out the general heist genre is already. To me it's sort of like saying "Get this, what if we took the cool and unique Deus Ex, only instead of all the things that make Deus Ex good in the first place, we take the new and interesting perspective of making it a modern military shooter."
