From Software really needs to make another one of these.

Other than Wrath of Heaven which is one of the best in the series, all the ones developed by From were pretty mediocre. Meanwhile, Acquire, the guys who made the first few games in the series, went on to make Shinobido, a spiritual successor, which is super radical.

I'm hoping they'd take whatever they learned from those games and apply as needed.

The first time I had to steal something from an Oni forest with actual oni took me by surprised.
The first two games always reminded me of MGS in concept; gameplay was more methodical and outright combat was usually the worst option. The first and third games were some of favorites of the time (2nd game wasn't bad but I didn't care for it being a prequel whatsoever). Wouldn't mind a proper remake of SA and WoH with some updated mechanics. Also Rikimaru 4 life

Honestly, after Tenchu Z I hope that if they ever reapproach the series they really revise it because Z is the perfect example of a franchise zombie. The touted character customization is kind of boring, and the cost is absolutely no fancy and unique stealth kills. The unique designs and themes of previous games are entirely abandoned for gangs, nobles and samurai or other ninja to kill with not one hint of the supernatural. The intent for 4-player co-op just sorta really made the whole game be designed as a bland title, it felt like a low-budget side-game.
Especially that Shinobi game with the guy that runs on walls and shit and everything is fast paced. That ain't a ninja....
I remember these games because the music always stood out for me. Some boss's theme was great but I can't recall wich one was.

Tenchu 1 & 2 were fucking fantastic. Loved them so much.
