Really liking the new look
Damn it, you beat me to it. :saddowns:
Either way, the game seems to be looking really nice so far. I hope we get more updates like this.
That motion blur is pretty awful though.
Im guessing they took some notes from alien isolation cuz thats the feeling im getting
Never understood why they put motion blur in games. Haven't met a single person that actually likes it.

I like it, but I should stress that I like it when it's subtle. Motion blur exists in real life, but it's subtle

Reminds me of a mix of Dead Space and Prey 2017, which makes sense given both games directly took inspiration from System Shock in the first place.
This is the one that got a demo like a year ago, right?
I'm confused with all these System Shock sequels/remakes/reboots. There also a sequel in development with Warren Spector, correct?

Yes, System Shock 3 is in development by Otherside Entertainment.

The problem with motion blur in games is it's more like motion blur in movies than it is real life motion blur.
Even in movies it's generally not too over-the-top otherwise it wouldn't be fun to watch. Probably a bigger problem is having motion blur when you're looking around, because looking round in a video game is like rotating your head with your eyes constantly facing forward, whereas that doesn't happen in real life. Some games exclude looking-around motion-blur, so that the motion blur is only on other objects that are moving in the view, and that usually works pretty well for everyone
oh good it doesn't look like everything has a default Unreal material on it anymore

this is the one with MaxOfS2D

He's no longer working on it.
Never played the original, but this is looking pretty good for an early dev thing. Apparently it's releasing next year though which seems a bit too soon.

It's a projected release date, not really confirmed or denied, just a guesstimate.
At a glance, the level design seems almost identical to the original for better or worse.
Something modern immersive sims do incredibly well is take advantage of the 3D space, a luxury that the original System Shock couldn't afford. Without much vertical space, level designers have to compensate by creating more maze like levels. I hope their future level design passes take better advantage of height, otherwise you might as well slap the camera above the player and make it a top down 2D metroidvania.

I'll be so disappointed if they axe cyberspace completely instead of ripping off that Dystopia source mod.
Oh yes, definitely
Cyberspace in Dystopia was fucking awesome
Reminds me a lot of Penumbra for some reason, I guess the effects and style fit that era a bit with how they want to modernize the old feel.
Is this the same remake from like a year ago that had a different pipe weapon and a really shitty attack animation for it? Because this looks way better than that one

It is, the old demo was a proof of concept demonstrating what could be done with the idea. This is going to be the actual product.
Hah, I love how the first keypad uses 0451 as the code.

This is looking much better. Glad to see they're taking this in a better direction

I mean, System Shock is the game that started that trend so it's only appropriate
