Been loving this album, easily the best Jay-Z album since American Gangster imho. The music video is weird, but it took me some time to understand what Jay was trying to push through.

Also, the Story of OJ for those who haven't seen it:

I'm not really into rap or whatever in general, but I can at least sort of understand the appeal of some of it, however I just don't "get" Jay-Z at all, his music to me pretty much sounds like some guy half-assed talking over some beat with some very basic rhyming.
Not trying to sound like I hate him, but I don't know what people see in his music and why he's quite so well known.
And yeah that video was weird.

personally for me this album was more about the production and the things he was saying over the actual rapping and the way he sounded
he's generally well liked and known for his older work like the black album and reasonable doubt which are generally considered essential classic rap albums.
his older albums are much more "traditional" rap while his stuff on this album is leaning towards a more spoken word sort of thing

Jay-Z's flow is kind of dynamic, because it changes from album-to-album, and his mood during production. Watch the Throne, for instance, is pretty hype and energetic, while much more melancholic projects like 4:44 reflect Jay's more "mature" topics and his situation with his wife, Beyonce. All in all, he favors good wordplay and a much more "smooth" style.
The reason why Jay-Z is so well-liked in the rap/hip-hop scene is because of his great lyrical prowess. He's also made a lot of classic rap albums back in the day (The Black Album, American Gangster, Reasonable Doubt, etc,.). While his more recent stuff isn't the greatest (bar 4:44), Jay-Z is still well-respected because of what he did in the industry.
That being said, he's a pretty polarizing figure. Some people love him, some don't fuck with his stuff at all. I'm more towards the middle, personally.

It's been on iTunes for awhile
oh shit someone told me it was tidal only, didn't even bother checking
Kill Jay-Z and The Story Of O.J. are the best two tracks on the album, imho
"OJ said 'I'm not black, I'm OJ'........okay." might be the best line in the whole damn thing
